Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes were loaded and headed for Atlanta Monday afternoon. Atlanta is one of processing center locations. Grace Fellowship was the area collection point. Boxes were dropped off locally and brought in from other areas – 1,526 from Atmore; 646 from Brewton; 402 from Evergreen; and 2,540 from Frisco City.

OCC drop-off under way

The first day for Operation Christmas Child drop-offs was Monday, November 13, at Grace Fellowship. A group of volunteers was on hand to receive completed boxes and to pack others. There’s still plenty of time to fill boxes. Collection continues through November 20. Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes collection set

This month, several locations in the multi-county Alabama Tri-County Area Team will serve as drop-off sites for the Samaritan’s Purse project, Operation Christmas Child – joining nearly 5,000 U.S. locations collecting gift-filled shoeboxes for children in need around the world.
