HES spelling bee
Huxford Elementary’s school-wide spelling bee was held Friday, January 6. The winners will compete in the school district spelling bee Thursday, January 12, 9 a.m., at Flomaton High School.

Giving back
Velma Jackson-Wilkins, Escambia County High School Class of 1972, stopped by the school Tuesday, January 3, to drop off a gift. She donated $500 toward the choir’s trip to Carnegie Hall in New York in April. Jackson-Wilkins resides in Manhattan and hopes to take the group to dinner while they’re in the Big Apple.
