The Atmore Memorial VFW Auxiliary #7016 spent a couple of hours Saturday, February 11, at Heritage Park, collecting cards to send to the VFW National Home for Children to be used in various arts and crafts projects. APD officers trained on use of new weapon

Swift-moving storm system causes minor damage – Roofs damaged on city, business buildings
A storm system that moved swiftly into and across Atmore last Tuesday afternoon (Feb. 7) ripped down a large section of tree that took a power line with it when it crashed into a city-owned building, and neatly folded the roof of a local auto repair garage. Alabama State Troopers continued Tuesday their investigation into a two-vehicle collision that occurred around 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, on Alabama 21, at its intersection with Woods Road.
