David’s voted Bama’s Best Catfish Restaurant – Local eatery’s Facebook response also secures People’s Choice Award

Alabama Farmers Federation officials confirmed Tuesday that David’s Catfish House of Atmore was selected by a three-member judging panel as the state’s best catfish restaurant. Brantley named RPES principal

The Escambia County Board of Education voted during regular meeting Thursday, July 13, to transfer John Brantley, principal of A.C. Moore Elementary, to Rachel Patterson Elementary School as principal, effective July 17. The board voted last month to consolidate A.C. Moore with Rachel Patterson and Escambia County Middle School.

Mid-August target date for completion of U.S. 31 paving

Alabama Department of Transportation officials are anticipating by mid-August the completion of two separate ongoing projects that will eventually provide a new surface for both lanes of the portion of U.S. 31 that runs through western Escambia County and Atmore and into the middle of Flomaton.
