Arrest made in convenience store robberies

An Atmore man was arrested and charged with the predawn Wednesday (Oct. 25) armed robberies of two local convenience stores after he crashed the stolen truck that was allegedly used in the commission of one of the crimes. Bicentennial Hayride cancelled for WSD

The 200 Alabama Bicentennial event planned for Williams Station Day has been cancelled. The hayride was to take place at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and take folks on a tour of historic sites around downtown. Atmore committee chairman Jennifer Sanders said the hayride will be rescheduled.
