A new Supreme Court justice
Bradley Bryne U.S. Congressman On the Friday night after Hurricane Sally passed, while many of us down here were still digging out and cleaning up and without electrical power, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died. Did you see that coming?
As I look back, maybe I should have realized what was happening. Early last week, New Orleans was bracing for Hurricane Sally. Then the storm took a little turn toward the Louisiana-Mississippi line, then a little more toward Gulfport. Wait … then Sally seemed to take aim at the Mississippi-Alabama line. There is no message in this violence, just hate, injury, and death. We saw videos last week of protesters…
The football section
We started publishing Atmore News in June 2005. I haven’t looked back at our first-year editions, but I’m sure we did a football section that fall. With this edition, that makes 15 football sections. Every year, the section has been a pretty easy one to work on. We talk to the coaches, band directors and cheerleader sponsors / coaches. Usually, well before the season starts, everything is in place at…
