Sunday alcohol sales now officially legit in city
The selling of packaged alcoholic beverages on Sundays has been legal in Atmore for a month. Or so everyone thought. City council members gave unanimous approval during their Monday, April 23, meeting to an ordinance that officially allows restaurants, convenience stores and other licensed retail outlets to begin selling beer and wine at 10 a.m. on Sunday. Still on target
A crew from Spanish Fort-based Polygon Inc. works April 16 to finish the concrete that will serve as the base for Atmore’s first-ever water-themed playground. A spokesperson for Atmore Rotary Club reported that the 2,000 square-foot play area, which costs in excess of $150,000, is on track to meet its pre-Memorial Day ribbon-cutting target.
