Couple busted in Jack Springs Road drug raid

Atmore Police Department narcotics officers arrested an Atmore husband and wife after execution of a search warrant at their Jack Springs Road residence turned up illegal drugs, a small amount of marijuana and several items associated with drug use.
APD Sgt. Darrell McMann reported that officers discovered during the search: nine grams of a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine, two grams of marijuana, and several glass pipes with various types of residue. They also found a digital scale, a marijuana grinder and various other items used in the consumption of illicit substances.
Veronica Gardner, 56, and Floyd Gardner, 62, are each charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Escambia County Detention Center (ECDC) records show Veronica Gardner was released April 9 on bond. Floyd Gardner remained in jail Monday, April 15.
Paul Greco
A Connecticut man was arrested April 14 by Atmore police, who were investigating a report of a burglary in progress.
APD reports show that officers were sent to an address on Ewing Drive around 10:40 p.m. When they arrived, they encountered 45-year-old Paul Andrew Greco of Wethersfield, Conn., who was holding a handgun.
He told police there were several people who were involved in the burglary, and police recovered several shell casings from shots fired by Greco into at least two unoccupied vehicles.
Greco was “acting strangely” and “appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance,” and police were able to disarm him without resistance. A computer check revealed the handgun was listed on a stolen property report filed by Escambia Co. Sheriff’s Office investigators.
The Connecticut man was booked into the ECDC on one count each of second-degree receiving stolen property, discharging a firearm into an unoccupied vehicle, second-degree criminal mischief, and second-degree criminal trespass. According to jail records, he remained in the facility Monday morning, April 15.
Joshua Tyler Johnson
A Perdido man, 23-year-old Joshua Tyler Johnson, was arrested for drug possession by Atmore police who were investigating a civil disturbance.
McMann said officers were dispatched around 10:45 a.m. on April 7 to Bream Street, where Johnson was standing in front of a residence.
Officers checked Johnson’s identification and discovered he was the subject of an active APD misdemeanor arrest warrant. After he was placed under arrest, police discovered a small zip-lock baggie that contained 2.8 grams of a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Johnson was booked into the ECDC on one count of possession of a controlled substance. He remained behind bars Monday, April 15.

A Florida man and woman were arrested April 14 after police pulled over a vehicle with a switched license plate as it traveled along Tumbling Lane. Police reports show the traffic stop occurred around 2:25 a.m., near the county road’s junction with U.S. 31.
According to reports, the officer could smell “a strong odor of marijuana” coming from the vehicle as he talked with the driver, John Paul Parris, 47, of Crestview, and his passenger, Ashley Marie Oviedo, 37, of Baker.
A probable-cause search turned up approximately six grams of marijuana, a digital scale with a residue on it that field-tested positive for methamphetamine, and other items used for the ingestion of illegal substances.
Parris and Oviedo were each charged with possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both remained in the county jail on Monday, April 15.

An Atmore man and a Stockton man were jailed April 10 on felony drug charges after the vehicle in which they were traveling was stopped by city police for speeding in a school zone.
APD reports show the traffic stop took place around 11:30 a.m. on Alabama 21, in front of Escambia County Middle School. A license check revealed that the driver, 38-year-old Daniel Dwayne Crenshaw of Atmore, was wanted by police in Philadelphia, Penn., who told APD they would not extradite him.
Crenshaw gave consent to search the vehicle, and the officer discovered a glass pipe with a residue that field-tested positive for methamphetamine. The pipe was on the passenger side of the vehicle.
Crenshaw and his passenger, Stockton resident Dalton Edward Harrison, 28, were charged with one count each of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Crenshaw remained in the county jail Monday, April 15; Harrison was freed on bond April 11.
Rachel Elizabeth Ward
Escambia County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) deputies arrested an Atmore woman April 9 on a felony drug possession charge.
No details of the arrest were provided, but the ECDC website shows that Rachel Elizabeth Ward, 40, was booked into the facility on one count of possession of an unspecified controlled substance.
Ward remained in the county jail at midday Monday, April 15.
Thomas Earl Watson
ECSO officers arrested an Atmore man April 8 on felony and misdemeanor drug charges.
ECDC records show that 56-year-old Thomas Earl Watson, who has no prior felony record, was released from the facility on Monday, April 15, on bond.
He is charged with one count each of possession of a controlled substance (unspecified), second-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Christopher Blake Moye
No details were provided, but the county jail website shows that ECSO deputies arrested an Atmore man on three felony charges related to the use of a bank card that had been either lost or stolen.
ECDC records indicate that 32-year-old Christopher Blake Moye was processed into the facility on one count each of third-degree theft of lost property, fraudulent use of a debit or credit card, and obstructing justice by using a false ID. Moye was released under bond April 10.
