Brandy Giger is excited and proud to throw her hat in the ring and officially announce her candidacy for Atmore City Council District 4.
Giger was raised in Atmore, and has lived here for most of her life. She is the daughter of Terrill and Renee Rigsby. Giger has been married to Zac for 12 years and they have two children, Addison, age 11 and Bryce, age 10.
She is a graduate of Escambia County High School, and she received two degrees from The University of Southern Mississippi in Political Science and Paralegal Studies. She is employed by First National Bank & Trust as the Director of Human Resources and Marketing.
Since moving back to Atmore, Giger has been involved in several civic organizations. She has served on the Atmore Chamber of Commerce for the past seven years and she also served as the President in 2018. Giger was honored to serve as the United Fund President and she is currently President of the Atmore Lions Club. She has also been active in the Atmore Leadership program. Giger has been fortunate to work with several volunteer organizations in the efforts to revitalization downtown Atmore.
“It will be a great privilege to serve my community on City Council. I will do so by listening openly to the concerns of all our community members with the goal of building a better Atmore, one that thrives economically and maintains that “small town” feel in our neighborhoods,” Giger said.
“It is my belief that public service is a responsibility that we all share and we should all be willing to contribute our time and best effort toward the well-being of the community in which we live, work, and play.”
“My commitment is to serve the citizens of our great town and contribute to its growth and prosperity; I will support public safety, encourage the continued improvements of city infrastructure, support marketing efforts of the Main Street program and encourage new economic development while supporting our local business. I would like to work on improving communication between the city administration and the citizens of Atmore.”
“I respectfully ask for your support and vote on August 25th.”
