Franklin “Red” D. Cotton Cotton Mr. Franklin “Red” D. Cotton, age 83, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Monday, August 3, 2020. He was born to the late J. D. and Ada E. Brown Cotton. He owned and operated The T&W Flea Market and numerous furniture stores in Pensacola, Fla for many years. Parents and students are invited to attend Escambia County Middle School’s drive through open house Thursday, August 6, from noon until 2 p.m. Everyone will simply drive around the school and see grade-level instructors welcoming the students for this upcoming school year. Bins will be provided marked by grades for supply drop-off. For those who cannot attend, a virtual open house will be scheduled.

EA 6th in AISA preseason poll
The Alabama Sports Writers Association has released its first poll of the 2020 football season. The ASWA’s preseason rankings have Escambia Academy as the AISA’s (Alabama Independent School Association) No. 6 team, with Monroe Academy at No. 8. Autauga Academy is ranked at the top of the poll.
