John Ham visited Atmore Public Library Friday, June 27, and he brought some friends.
Ham is a naturalist with Animal Tales, “programs providing edZOOcation.” Ham also owns Animal Tales’ southeast region and is the director of operations.
For the last session of the library’s summer reading program, kids got to see animals up close, even getting to pet a boa constrictor.
John brought a frog (a big frog!), a legless lizard (not to be confused with a snake), a bearded dragon, a fruit bat, and a boa constrictor. And he brought a most unusual bird – a laughing kookaburra native to Australia. Yes, the bird makes a laughing sound.
