The following felony arrests were reported by officers of the Atmore Police Department (APD) during the period May 30-June 2:
Timothy Thomas

The 55-year-old Pensacola, Fla. man was arrested June 2 after he attempted to jump the counter at Atmore’s Burger King and fight an employee who the man claimed had gotten his order wrong.
Police were sent to the fast-food restaurant around 4:25 p.m. after dispatchers relayed a report of “an angry, intoxicated customer attempting to fight with the employees over his belief that his order was wrong.” Reports show Thomas attempted to jump the counter to get to the employees. (Further investigation revealed the order was correct.)
According to police reports, the Pensacola man “had a strong odor of alcohol and refused to cooperate with the officers.” When officers informed Thomas he was under arrest, he refused to comply, but after a brief struggle was taken into custody.
A search incident to arrest turned up “numerous” Oxycodone pills, adding one more charge to an already lengthy list.
Thomas remained in the Escambia County Detention Center (ECDC) early Tuesday, June 3, charged with one count each of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, public intoxication, obstructing governmental operations and resisting arrest.
Daygen Slate

The 18-year-old Atmore man was arrested May 31 after APD officers were sent to a Stokly Court residence in response to a domestic violence incident.
Officers received the call around 9:25 a.m. While they were on the way to the site, Slate left in a vehicle. The vehicle was stopped a short distance from the residence and Slate was taken into custody.
Police were able to determine that Slate had choked the victim and had taken her cell phone while she was speaking with an emergency dispatcher.
He was booked into the ECDC on one count each of domestic violence-assault-strangulation or suffocation, and interference with a domestic violence emergency call.
He remained behind bars Monday afternoon, June 2.
Jeremiah Johnson Lord

Lord, 25, of Atmore, was arrested May 31 after police stopped a vehicle from which a passenger had tossed something out the window.
The traffic stop was conducted around 10:45 a.m. on Brooks Lane. The officer stopped his vehicle to inspect the tossed object and discovered it was several grams of methamphetamine.
The driver told police Lord had “walked back to get what he threw out of the window.” Backup officers found Lord walking in the area, and he admitted he threw the drugs out of the vehicle.
He was arrested on one count each of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and tampering with physical evidence. He remained in the county jail Monday afternoon, June 2.
Quantilan Packer

The 38-year-old Atmore man was arrested May 30 on felony and misdemeanor drug possession charges after the vehicle he was driving was pulled over for running a stop sign on Brown Street.
According to police reports, when the reporting officer came to the car window to speak with Packer, he “noted the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.” A probable-cause search was conducted, and a small amount of marijuana was discovered, along with several amphetamine pills, and items used to ingest narcotics.
Packer was booked into the county jail on one count each of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and second-degree possession of marijuana. He remained in the facility Monday afternoon, June 2.
