Mary Dennis Eicher

Mrs. Mary Dennis Eicher, age 85, passed away Friday, April 4, 2025 at her home in Walnut Hill, Fla. She was born in Davisville, Fla. to John Dennis and Verline Winand. Her mother passed shortly after her birth. She was raised by her father and stepmother, Hattie Winand Dennis. She graduated from Ernest Ward High School and later met the love of her life, Wendell Lynn Eicher. The two were married and made their home on the Eicher family farm in Walnut Hill.
She was a devoted and loving mother to her two children. She spent many years working in medical office administration for Dr. Harold Wilson, Dr. William Earl Thomas, and Dr. James Dixon.
She was a faithful servant of the Lord, and was active in the Church of the Nazarene, where she taught Sunday school. She lived her faith through quiet acts of service, generosity, and love. She was an exceptional cook—her fried chicken was legendary—and her kitchen table was always full of food lovingly prepared for family and friends. Working full time and supporting life on the farm, she always put her family first. Her two granddaughters were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Dennis and Verline Winand and her stepmother, Hattie Winand Dennis.
Mrs. Eicher is survived by her beloved husband of fifty-six years, Wendell Lynn Eicher; her daughter, Lana Eicher Ayscue (Brandon); her son, Wesley Leland Eicher; her cherished granddaughters, Brooke Lindsey Ayscue and Addison Faith Eicher; her brothers, Guy Dennis (Val) and John Dennis (Cassie); along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 18, 2025 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 11a.m. at the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Pine Barren Baptist Church Cemetery in Century, Fla.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Mary’s memory.

Amelia Patricia Solomon
Mrs. Amelia Patricia Solomon, age 86, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2025 in Pensacola, Fla. She was a lifelong resident of Walnut Hill, Fla. Her life was a tapestry woven with kindness, laughter and the enduring bonds of family and friendship. She attended Annie Jones Methodist Church.
She loved to read and found joy in cooking, especially baking cakes, pies, and delightful desserts. Evenings were often spent watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, challenging herself and enjoying the thrill of the game. Attending church offered her a sense of community. Shopping was another favorite pastime, whether finding special gifts or simply indulging in a little retail therapy. She enjoyed traveling to California and other lovely destinations. She also took delight in sending Christmas and birthday cards, keeping her loved ones close, no matter the distance.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Dewey and Lucy Serina Vaughan; husband, Preston Solomon; two brothers, John Henry Vaughan and Dewey Vaughan; sister, Loretta Cox; granddaughter, Mattie Elizabeth Solomon.
Mrs. Solomon is survived by one daughter, Amelia Solomon (Randy) Frahm of Rockwood, Tenn.; two sons, John Preston (Stephanie) Solomon of Walnut Hill and Joseph Michael (Denise) Solomon of Markham, Texas; five grandchildren, Tabitha Frahm (Jasen) Carter, Jordan “Luci” Frahm, JP (Dera) Solomon, Levi (Alyssa) Solomon and Makenna (Jacob) Krenek; three great-grandchildren, Harrison, Eli and Weslie; honorary grandchild, Roy Garza’.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Petty Funeral Homes, LLC, with Bruce Godwin officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 11, 2025 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Petty Funeral Homes, LLC.

James “Jimmy” Michael Coker, Sr.

Mr. James “Jimmy” Michael Coker, Sr., age 91, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Thursday, April 10, 2025 in Pensacola, Fla. He began his journey with Jessie Maude (Keller) Coker and William Edgar Coker in Huxford, Ala. He was a 1951 graduate of Escambia County High School in Atmore. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He then enrolled at API College (Auburn University) graduating in August, 1960. He joined his Uncle Earl Snyder in his furniture business and continued the business after his uncle retired for thirty-eight years until April 1999. He eloved the business, motor-homing, Auburn football games, and spending time with their special granddaughter, Ashley.
He was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church. He was a very quiet, sincere, and loving family man who loved God, family, and Country with all his heart. He was a giver, and loved sharing with others.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Elbert Coker, George Coker and Edgar “Billy” Coker, Jr; four sisters, Evelyn Pierce Thurman, Millie Purvis, Bobbie Stallworth and Peggy Lambert Moye.
Mr. Coker is survived by his loving wife, Willie Sue “Susie” Brown of Atmore; his son, James “Mike” Michael Coker, Jr. of Atmore; sister, Faye (Mike) Blanton Morris of Molino, Fla. and his granddaughter, Ashley Michelle Coker of D’lberville, Miss.
Graveside services were held Sunday, April 13, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. Jim Dietz officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore, Ala.
Active pallbearers were Bryan Bell, Rodney Coker, Chuck Dettling, Larry Houck, Brian Bruley and Steve Shirley.

Rebecca Kay Romans Muck
Mrs. Rebecca Kay Romans Muck, age 54, of Century, Fla. passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born to James and Debra Romans in Columbus, Ohio. She was a 1987 graduate of Groveport Madison High School. She went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Nursing. She was a loving mother, nana, daughter, wife, sister and friend to so many. Becky had a huge heart for her family, friends, husband, children, grandchildren, and her canine companions. She was truly beautiful inside and out.
She joins her son, Mark Allen Wilson; grandparents, Norma and Lawrence Crawford, Helen and Earl Romans and mother-in-law, Donna Carpenter in Heaven. John II 25-26
Mrs. Muck is survived by a loving husband, Keith Muck; parents, James and Debra Romans; children, Justin Wilson, Jessica (Josh) Peake, Harley Pack and Brittany (Mike) Holbein; grandchildren, James Romans, Roman Peake, Owen Holbein, O’Brien Holbein and O’Neal Holbein; sister, Lori (Sam) Lantz; brother, James Romans and many nieces and nephews.

Patricia Diann Burkett
Mrs. Patricia Diann Burkett, age 67, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025 at her home in Century, Fla. She was attended Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Church.
She loved fishing and hunting, as well as spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching Reba sitcoms, traveling to Lake Guntersville, attending yard sales and playing Bingo.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Wells and mother, Lemmie Moore Goodson; one sister, Teresa Wells and step-father, John Goodson.
Mrs. Burkett is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Terral Burkett of Byrneville, Fla.; one son, Anthony (Jessica) Burkett of Byrneville; one daughter, Christy (Kevin) Diamond of Byrneville; one brother, James Wells of Brewton, Ala.; four grandchildren, Becca, Josh, Luke, Halee; a special nephew and Atmore, Ala. family, Nathan (Deanna) Burkett and children, Brayden and Brentley, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Church with Rev. Tim Floyd officiating. Burial will follow at Beulah Chapel Cemetery.
