3 join RPSTEM Honor Society

Three Rachel Patterson Elementary School students were inducted into the National STEM Honor Society Thursday, April 25.
Paisley Dorriety, Gabrianna Foster and Kamden Turner join an organization which already has 19 members, most of whom participated in the induction ceremony.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Fettler Harris and Kamden Turner, with Lela Gaines, Shabralei Hands and Lilly-Kate O’Brien presenting the organization’s motto. La’Tia Wright gave the Welcome Address followed by Lae’lyn Bogan introducing the guest speaker Albert Grassia, technology specialist.
The group presented a musical presentation, “World of Wonder.”
STEM Honor Society Pillars and Lighting of the Candles was conducted as follows:
Scholarship – Brayleigh Staples
Service – Jah’Liyah Dawson
Character – Aaliyah Pate’
Leadership – LaRoyia Turner
Treyson House, Saveion Johnson and Tamarian Webb led the NSHS Pledge.
The new inductees were pinned and presented certificates by STEM coaches Caroline Hughes and Julie McDonald, RPES assistant principal Cheree Davis and principal Toya McMillian.
Students Ryla Crayton, Janelle Frye, Carter Overstreet, Arlaysia Pete, Arynn Pete and Melanie Williams recited a poem, with Paisley Dorriety and Gabrianna Foster closing the program.
