Atmore grant writers attend Mobile session

The Community Foundation of South Alabama had a general information session March 13 in Mobile. Danielle Dunbar, Executive Director of Alabama Association of Nonprofits, spoke about the state of nonprofits in Alabama. There are 5,578 Alabama nonprofits who filed a tax form 990. Lions golf tourney

The Atmore Lions Club held their annual golf tournament Thursday, March 14. Shown is the winning team – Alabama AG Credit – from left, Kevin Rolfe, John Brantley, Jodie Dortch, and Larry Gohagan. Gulf Winds came in second and Hawt Mess was third. The tourney had 32 golfers and 47 sponsors.

Teaching patriotism

Members of Atmore Memorial VFW Auxiliary visited Fred L. McGhee Learning Center at Poarch Tuesday, March 12. They taught PreK (the four-year-old class) the Pledge of Allegiance and the meaning of the flag. They read the book Our Pledge Our Promise and they gave students goodie bags filled with patriotic items.
