A send-off celebration was recently held for Escambia Academy senior Hannah Johnson. Hannah, the daughter of Chad and Monica Johnson is Escambia County’s Distinguished Young Woman of 2024.
On January 14, Hannah will travel to Montgomery to spend the week preparing for the state program.
During her reign, she was chosen to participate as an ambassador for the Governor’s Candlelight Tour. Hannah, a member of Poarch Creek Indians, was also selected to showcase her talent, PowWow dancing, at St. James Elementary School during their “Be Your Best Self” program.
When asked, Hannah stated that she has met so many talented and amazing women through this program and it has been an honor to represent her county, her Tribe, her school, and her family.
The Distinguished Young Woman of Alabama state program will be held Friday, January 19, and Saturday, January 20, at Frazer Church in Montgomery. Tickets and events are as follows:
Friday Preliminary, 7:30 p.m. – $25 at the door
Saturday Preliminary, 1 p.m. – $25 at the door
Saturday Finals, 7 p.m. – $35 at the door
Discounted ticket may be purchased in advance.
