An 18-year-old Century, Fla. man was arrested late last week by Atmore police in connection to an October 6 incident that left two local residents with minor gunshot wounds.
Travis Scott remained in the Escambia County Detention Center late Monday, October 16, charged with two counts of attempted murder, one count of discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling, and three counts of discharging a firearm into an unoccupied vehicle.
Atmore Police Department Sgt. Darrell McMann reported in an October 16 press release that APD officers responded to Atmore Community Hospital after hospital staff reported a person had come to the hospital with a gunshot wound to one of his or her feet.
While police were interviewing that person, a second person arrived at the hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to one of his or her hands. Neither injury was considered life-threatening, police said.
After interviewing both victims, police responded to the 100 block of Patterson Street, where the incident occurred, and talked with several witnesses.
The witnesses told police Scott drove up to a group of people at that location, got out of a vehicle and fired at least three shots before fleeing the area in the vehicle.
Scott was reportedly taken into custody October 12 while inside a local restaurant.
