This past Friday night, September 29, Northview Chiefs fell to Elberta with a final score of 43-26. It was a close game all the way until the very end.
Starting off the first quarter strong, the Chiefs’ Wyatt Scruggs scored on a kick return. Unfortunately for the Chiefs, their kick was blocked, but nonetheless, it put them up 6-0 early on. When Elberta was in field goal range again, they went for it, and it was good making the score 6-3 at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Scruggs got another touchdown for the Chiefs, bringing the score up to 12-3. Elberta scored shortly after, inching the score closer at 12-10.
In the third quarter of the game, Elberta scored again, making the score 12-16. They went for 2, but thanks to Northview’s defense, it was no good. Joe Wright scored shortly after for the Chiefs making the score even closer at 19-16.
Elberta scored again which made the score 19-23. To counter that, Wright ran it in yet again for the Chiefs, making the score 26-23. Elberta scored 2 more times in the third quarter , bringing the score to 26-36.
In the fourth quarter, Elberta scored the last touchdown of the night, along with making the extra point, bringing the score to a final of 26-43.
This week the Chiefs will travel to Baker to rival against the Gators. This is a game that fans, players, and coaches alike look forward to every year. You don’t want to miss it!
