Foley woman jailed for third time since February

A woman who lists a Foley address was arrested August 3, the third time since February she has been charged by Atmore authorities with drug possession.
After a traffic stop on Alabama 21, a female officer searched Amanda Jean Pitts, 45, and found several plastic baggies on her person, some of which contained a brown grainy substance that field-tested positive for heroin and some that contained a crystal-like substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Pitts remained in the Escambia County Detention Center (ECDC) Monday afternoon, August 7, held on two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
ECDC records show Atmore police also arrested her on February 4 and February 14, each time on a felony drug possession charge.
*Isaac Bernal, 38, of Atmore was arrested August 1 by Atmore police on felony and misdemeanor drug charges after a traffic stop on U.S. 31. Bernal reportedly handed the officer a small baggie with marijuana in it, and a search turned up approximately 12.7 grams of hydrocodone pills.
Bernal is charged with one count each of distributing a controlled substance (possession of more than 8 grams of hydrocodone), second-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jail records show he was released on bond August 2.
*An Atmore woman, 45-year-old Melissa Kaye Daniels, was arrested July 29 by Atmore police on a felony drug charge.
Daniels is charged with one count each of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released on bond August 5.
*Amalia Constance Allen, 44, of Atmore was arrested July 31 by Escambia County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) deputies on a charge of first-degree theft.
First-degree theft occurs when the value of the property stolen exceeds $2,500 or if the stolen property is a motor vehicle.
Allen was released on bond August 1.
*An Atmore man, 55-year-old Aquilla Dortch, was arrested August 2 by ECSO deputies and charged with one felony and two high misdemeanors.
Dortch is charged with second-degree burglary, a Class B felony, along with one count each of third-degree domestic violence (assault) and fourth-degree theft (less than $500 not taken directly from a person). The assault and theft charges are both Class A misdemeanors.
Dortch remained in the ECDC Monday afternoon, August 7.
*Antonio Devon Hall, 29, of Atmore was arrested August 2 by sheriff’s deputies and charged with fraudulent use of a credit or debit card.
The charge against Hall, who was released August 3 on bond, is a Class C felony.
