Jody O.E. “Joe” Posey 

Mr. Jody O.E. “Joe” Posey, age 85, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla. following a brief illness. He was born in Moulton, Ala. and has resided for twenty-six years in Bratt, Fla. He was a former resident of Atmore, Ala. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Bratt, Fla. He retired from the United States Navy after twenty-two years, where he served 3 terms in Vietnam. He served the school system in Mississippi as a mechanic for years. He enjoyed going to gospel singings, wood working, making wind chimes, and making clocks out of old records.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Eugene (Letha Louise McDougal) Posey; wife, Bobbie Jean Pope Posey; two brothers, William Eugene Posey, Jr. and John Wallace Posey; two sisters, Letha Louise Luker and Bernice “B” White; one grandson, Joe Posey.
Mr. Posey is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Barbara Posey of Bratt; three daughters, Shelia Nichols of Calif., Elizabeth “Libby” Posey of Ore. and Jewel Justice of Mich.; one son, Charles Posey of Mich.; four step-daughters, Shelia (Mark) Wattier of Mobile, Ala., Melody (Paul) Lee of Bratt, Melinda (Wesley) Fountain of Nashville, Tenn. and Lisa (Marvin) Condrey of Byrneville, Fla.; twenty-four, grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC. with Rev. Greg Sellers and Rev. Jesse Wood officiating. Burial followed at Godwin Cemetery.
The family received friends Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 10 a.m. until service time 11 a.m.at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC.
Pallbearers were Marvin Condrey, Wesley Fountain, Paul Lee, Billy McCann, Jake Warner, Mark Wattier, and Kenny Coleman.

Leon C. Fowler

Mr. Leon C. Fowler, age 88, of Magnolia, Texas passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023. He was born to Cullen and Ora Bell Lord Fowler. He was a Collections Specialist.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lynn Fowler; two sons, Chris Fowler and David Fowler; his sister, Brenda Faye Fowler and his brother, James William Fowler, Sr.

Mr. Fowler is survived by his sons, Eric Fowler and Michael Fowler; his daughters, Francine (Carl) Raimoudi, Catherine (Frank) Raia, Cynthia (Thomas) Piercy and Julianna Fowler; his brother, Bobby Fowler; his sisters, Joan (Donald) Mahon, Betty (Oscar) Seara and Shirley Fowler; eleven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. at Pine Barren Baptist Church Cemetery. Interment followed in Pine Barren Baptist Church Cemetery in Davisville, Fla.

The family received friends Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore, Ala.

Martha Diane Dortch Ganey

Ms. Martha Diane Dortch Ganey, age 72, of Monroeville, Ala., passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023. She was born in Walnut Hill, Fla. to Jamie and Mable Phillips Dortch. She was a member of Megargel Church of God. She worked for Vanity Fair Corporation and later retired from Englewood Health Care Center.  

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Ms. Ganey is survived by her daughter, Jamie (Phillip) Presley of Uriah, Ala.; her brother, Dennis (Doris) Dortch of Moses Lake, Wash.; her sisters, Gail (Mark) Berube of Monroe, Ga. and Kay Dortch of Kennewick, Wash.; her grandchild, Stephen Metts (Kaitlyn Halford) of Frisco City, Ala. and her special fur baby, Little One.

A memorial service was held Friday, July 28, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel.

Brenda Michele Harris

Mrs. Brenda Michele Harris, age 62, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023 in Bay Minette, Ala. She was born in Mobile, Ala. and has resided most of her life in Bay Minette. She always enjoyed being by the water especially the beach. She enjoyed sitting on the front porch and listening to gospel music.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Ellis “Hank” Sprinkle and her husband Danny Harris.
Mrs. Harris is survived by her mother, Millie Marie Sprinkle of Bay Minette; one son, Danny Ray (Judy) Harris of Maxwell, Texas; one brother, Thomas (Regina) Sprinkle of Rabun, Ala.; two sisters, Arnita Sturgill of Wheelright, Ky. and Cindy Sprinkle of Bay Minette; five grandchildren, Danny Garth Harris, Cody Pendergraft, Katie Harris, Brady Harris, Korey Harris; two great-grandchildren, Christopher Harris, Presley Harris; three aunts, Mazie Guy of Spanish Fort, Ala., Rhonda Barber of Texas and Ola (Dennis) Johnson of Irvington, Ala.; one uncle, David Sprinkle of Milton, Fla.; other relatives and friends.
Memorial services were held Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Church of God Prophecy, in Poarch, Ala.

William Arnold “Banny” Lambert

Mr. William Arnold “Banny” Lambert, age 94, of Satsuma, Ala., passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023. He was born in Goodway, Ala. to William Howard and Ollie Mae Wilburn Lambert. He was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Theodore, Ala. He retired from Southland Telephone Company and later entered the real estate business.

He was preceded in death by his parents; nine siblings, Beatrice Davis, Marshall Lambert, Cecil Lambert, Wilburn Lambert, Myrtice Brown, Laura Lou Coleman, Carlos Leo Lambert and Oneal Lambert.

Mr. Lambert is survived by his wife of seventy-one years, Thelma Johnson Lambert; his sons, Terry Arnold (Andrea) Lambert of Uriah, Ala. and Tommy Howard (Angela) Lambert of Theodore; his daughter, Sue (Van) Sawyer of Satsuma; his grandchildren, Chris Lambert, Eric Sawyer, Terry “TJ” Lambert, Sarae Roberts, Rebecca Murray, Jill Stokes and Ryan Lambert along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 4, 2023 at Noon at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jay Towne and Bro. Johnny Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Enon Baptist Church Cemetery in Goodway.

David F. Parish, Sr. 

Mr. David F. Parish, Sr., age 79, a resident of Atmore, Ala. for sixty-four years, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023.  He was born in Kenton, Ohio to Lenole and Eutalis Burbaugh Parish.  He was a member of Grace Fellowship and a 1962 graduate of LaRue High School. He was stationed at Whiting Field while serving in the United States Navy. He retired from Container Corp of America in Brewton, Ala.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Leanne Weist and his brother, Phillip Parish.

Mr. Parish is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Geneva Beasley Parish; his son, David F. (Michelle) Parish, Jr. of Atmore; his daughter, Terri Godwin of Wallace, Ala.; his brother, Joe Edward (Sandy) Parish of Gainesboro, Tenn.; his grandchildren, Anna (Tony) Ellis and Kyle (Whitney) Parish; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore.

Active pallbearers will be Kyle Parish, Tony Ellis, Eli Norton, Easton Norton, Rett Parish and Cody Norton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Carlis Albritton, Calvin Schrock, James Smoker, Lester Huber, Jim Weber and James Helton.

Dorothy Bullard Lee of Atmore, Ala., passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023 at her home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Emmanuel Faith Center. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
