Atmore City Council, in a brief July 24 session, approved an alcoholic beverages license for a business that will be opening soon and gave the green light to the transfer of the licenses for the three remaining local stores involved in the recent Diamond Foods divestiture of 20 gasoline station-convenience stores across Southwest Alabama and Northwest Florida.
The new license was approved for Grizzly Pizza LLC, which will soon open in the Church Street building formerly occupied by Café 251.
The former Diamond Foods license for the 1204 East Nashville Avenue station was transferred to HNM 104 LLC; the license for the station at 303 West Howard Street was transferred to HNM 105 LLC, and the license for the station at 4095 Jack Springs Road was transferred to HNM 108 LLC.
The listed mailing address for each of the HNM entities is 9692 Bent Brook Drive, Montgomery.
Mayor Jim Staff reported that each of the transfers, as well as the application by Grizzly Pizza for a new license, had received the approval of the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board.
There being no other business on the agenda, the meeting was adjourned.
