Patsy Ruth Justice
Mrs. Patsy Ruth Justice, age 85, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at her Flomaton residence. She was born in Alexander City, Ala., was was a resident of Fairfax, Ala. and moved to Flomaton in 1953. She was an educator at many institutions including Flomaton Elementary, Escambia Academy and Jefferson Davis Community College. She was vice-president of Greenlawn Pharmacy in Atmore from 1983-2007 and vice-president of Rexall Drug store from 1964-2007. She was a member of Flomaton United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Roger Denson Green and her parents, Denson Kermit Green and Jessi Lee Roberts.
Mrs. Justice is survived by her husband, William J. Justice of Flomaton; a son, James (Keri) Christopher Justice of Gainesville, Fla.; a daughter, Julia Justice Brock (Gregory) of Brewton, Ala.; a sister, Joy Green Anderson of Atmore, Ala.; four grandchildren, Meagan Bethea, Sarah Justice, Pattylynn Brock and Elizabeth Joy Justice; two great-grandchildren, Eevee Bethea and Barrett Justice Bethea and a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 24, 2023, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Flomaton Funeral Home with Rev. Paul McVay officiating. Interment will follow in Flomaton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 24, 2023 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Mike Weaver, Lonnie Weaver, Greg Brock, Danny Cottrell, Robert Anderson and Hart Bethea.

Jimmy Dean Colbert
Mr. Jimmy Dean Colbert, age 60, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023 in Mobile, Ala. He was born in Atmore to the late John H., Sr. and Cubia Dean Hicks Colbert. He was a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Linda Diane Rolin.
Mr. Colbert is survived by his brother, Johnny (Jennifer) Colbert, Jr; his nieces and nephews, Connie Bartlett, Dustin Colbert, Douglas Rolin, Lynn Rolin Steele, Brian Pierce and numerous great nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 3 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Clarence Rolin officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Douglas “Poncho” Kelly, James Colbert, Robby Hayles, Larry Watts, Justin Watts and Corey James.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Rolin, Wayne Colbert and John Kelly.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 28, 2023 from 2 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

David Keith Hewitt
Mr. David Keith Hewitt, age 49, passed peacefully at his home in Atmore, Ala. Tuesday, March 21, 2023. He was born in Wayne, Neb. He was a 1991 graduate of Wayne High School and then attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln for a time before finding his place as a skilled construction worker and supervisor. He was a natural-born leader and proud of the many accomplishments he made throughout his life. He was stellar football player and wrestler in his youth, and an unwavering Cornhusker fan his entire life. He loved to travel with family and friends and was always ready to embark on a new adventure. He was a loving and devoted father, partner, friend, and son. Nothing in this world meant more to him than his three children.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Chantip “Tippy” Yahatta Johnson, and his father, Robert Keith Hewitt of Nebraska.
Mr. Hewitt is survived by his significant other, Samantha Martin of Atmore, Ala.; their son,
Alexander Rush Hewitt (21 months); as well as his daughter, Piper Michelle Hewitt (21); his son, Ziba Cade Hewitt (18) and their mother, Jennifer Dutremaine, of Tampa, Fla.; his bonus children, Lily Grace Rolin (15), Jackson Keith Rolin (12) and Jacen Randal Rolin (9), all of Atmore.
The family will hold a private memorial at a later date.

Richard Lee Everette
Mr. Richard Lee Everette, age 62, of Atmore, Ala. passed away Sunday, March
26, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. He was a US Army veteran and worked as a carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Grover Everette and his brother, Stephen Everette.
Mr. Everette is survived by his mother, Carolyn (Alfred) Nall of Excel, Ala; son, Jessie (Jozie) Everette, US Army, stationed in Italy; daughters, Kerri (Justin) Boykin of Mobile, Ala, Niki Everette of Atmore; brother, Scott Everette of Atmore; sister, Denean (Mark) Sechrest of The Woodlands, Texas; six grandchildren, KyLeigh Everette, Jayla Wilson, Ansleigh Gardner, Claire Kirby, Chloe Kirby, and Hawk Wade Everette.
The family will hold a private memorial service in his honor.

Patsy Ann Sasser Miller
Mrs. Patsy Ann Sasser Miller, age 90, passed away Friday, March 24, 2023. She was born in Atmore, Ala. to the late Annie Lenora Luker Sasser and Wilson Leroy Sasser. She was a charter member of Presley Street Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and served in many other capacities over the years. She was an avid supporter of youth baseball in Atmore, along with her husband Earl. Patsy was a Cub Scout leader and “neighborhood Mom”, who welcomed children that loved to play in her yard. Her love of children carried over to her work at Rachel Patterson Elementary School as a lunchroom worker. She would wear a different pin on her uniform each day, to the delight of the children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Earl Edgar Miller, Jr.; four sisters, Carolyn Sasser Hetzel, Marie Sasser Bryant, Evelyn Sasser Dillree, Eunice Sasser Reynolds; two brothers, Edward Leroy Sasser and Max Farrell Sasser.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her sons, Earl Edgar Miller III (Rita) of Ozark, Ala. and Kendall Wayne Miller (Teri) of Summerdale, Ala.; cherished Meemaw of Andrew Kendall Miller (Brandy), Wade Vickery Miller, Clayton Earl Miller, Justin Tyler Miller, Tucker Jordan Miller (Emma) and Kendall Brooke Miller; proud great-Meemaw of Libby Kay Miller, Jaxson Wade Miller, Landri Kendall Miller, Leighton Karaline Miller, Miles Easton Miller and Kai Ripken Miller; her sister, Joyce Sasser Brown (Ed), of Atmore; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Hines of Cordell, Okla. as well as many nieces and nephews.
Celebration of life service will be held. Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Presley Street Baptist Church with Rev. Father Mark Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 12:30 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at Presley Street Baptist Church.

Mr. Heron Pete, III, age 33, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Pensacola, Fla. to parents of Heron Pete, II and Wanda Wright-Marshall. He was a proud graduate of Northview High School. He was employed with Pepsi/SAV for four years. He was a faithful member of Outpour Worship Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandfather, Abraham Griggs; great-grandmother, Louise Wright; aunt, Diane Jacobs and one uncle, Ernest Wright.
Mr. Pete is survived by his wife, Antrassica Pete; three beautiful daughters, Ar’Laysia Pete, Ar’Ynn Pete and Ar’yiel Pete; father-in-love, Marvin Marshall and mother-in-love, Lakeisha (Quinston) Ephraim, Sr.; siblings, Nichole Paige, Jeremy Pete, Courtni Pete, Marquitta Marshall and Brittany Pete; grandparents, Mary Griggs, Dorothy Marshall and Ray Marshall; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jazzlyn Ephraim, Pastor Quinston (Jamariouse) Ephraim, Jr., Sophia Catillo; special nieces and nephews; Ja’Juan, Taniyay, Kinte’, Jr., Kameron, Mr. Quinston, Sariah and Liza; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Emmanuel Faith Center with Apostle Wayne Johnson, Host Pastor and Pastor Quinston Ephriam, Jr., Eulogist. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Purvis Smith, Jr., Jarrod Addison, Wendell Johnson, Abe Shoemo and James Lewis, Jr.
