First United Methodist Church, along with the help of other churches in the community, will host a series of Lenten Lunches on Monday, April 3, Tuesday, April 4, and Wednesday, April 5, from 11:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. each day.
Guest speakers will offer a devotional message each day. Monday will feature the Rev. Dr. Kevin Garrett of First Baptist Church, Atmore; Tuesday has the Rev. Darryl North, Empowerment Tabernacle Church, Atmore; and the series closes on Wednesday with Pastor Gene King of Grace Fellowship, Atmore.
Lunch will be provided free of charge each day by local churches.
FUMC pastor the Rev. Andy Gartman said the hope is that the community will come together for this time of worship and fellowship during Holy Week.
