Atmore Community Hospital (ACH) will have an open house Tuesday, March 28, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. to welcome Dr. Marc Saunders, DO, FACS, to the Atmore community. The event will be open to the public at ACH Specialty Care located at 406 Medical Park Drive (formerly MedPlus building).
Dr. Saunders received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine of the New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury, N.Y. He completed his residency training at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, Ohio. Dr. Saunders has been a Board Certified Surgeon since 1995 and has over 27 years of general surgical and endoscopy experience.
Dr. Saunders most recently worked as a wound care physician in Miramar, Fla. at Vohra Wound Physicians from 2021 to 2022. Prior to that position, he worked as a general hospital surgeon for Baptist Medical Group in Pensacola, 2017 – 2020, and St. Joseph Health Center in Warren, Ohio 2011 – 2016. Dr. Saunders also was in private practice in Youngstown, Ohio from 1994 to 2004 and again from 2009 to 2016.
