Registration is currently under way for youngsters ages 4-12 who plan to participate in the Atmore Cal Ripken Baseball or Atmore Babe Ruth Softball programs this spring and summer.
Registration will be held from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day, Monday through Friday, through March 3, at Atmore Public Library, 700 East Church Street.
One more Saturday signup session will be held at Atmore City Hall’s auditorium, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on February 25. Practices will begin March 6, and games will begin April 3.
A registration fee of $40 will be charged for each person who signs up in either of six age groups.
The T-ball baseball program is for ages 4-6; those 9-10 can choose between coach-pitch baseball and player-pitch baseball, and those who are 11 or 12 years old will play at the major-league 70 level.
For softball, there will be two age groups: 9-10 and 10-12.
