Atmore Community Hospital (ACH) announced recently Jamie Luttrell, Sonographer RDMS, was awarded Atmore Community Hospital’s Lifesaver Award. The Lifesaver Award is presented to employees whose actions prevent a potential life-threatening deterioration in the condition of a patient, visitor, or fellow employee.
“Jamie made a potential life-saving catch for one of her patients,” ACH Administrator Brad Lowery said. “Her actions led to a large mass being discovered.”
According to hospital officials, Luttrell contacted the patient’s physician and was able to get the order changed to a more inclusive test. This allowed a large mass to be seen.
“This is truly a great catch and would have a huge impact on the patient’s plan of care,” said Ashley Strawbridge, Patient Safety and Employee Health Manager, “We thank for Jamie helping to provide the best care for our patients.”
