Tiffany Michelle-Barrows Hammac was named Teacher of the Year at Huxford Elementary School.
In November 2020, Hammac was hired as the HES special education teacher. In the summer of 2022, she applied for and transferred to the third-grade general education classroom at Huxford. Since her transfer to the general education classroom, she has had the opportunity to implement teaching strategies that were successful during her time as a special education teacher.
“Huxford Elementary School is blessed to have Mrs. Hammac on our teaching staff,” HES Principal Leah Fuqua said.
That statement is reinforced by statements from Hammac’s colleagues.
“Mrs. Hammac is an exceptional and dedicated teaching partner. She works tirelessly to encourage and develop relationships with her students. She is extremely organized and driven which inspires all of us who are around her.”
“Mrs. Hammac has touched countless lives in the short time she has been a part of our school family. I am amazed at her steadfast dedication and innovative ideas. Her ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students is remarkable and rarely seen in a novice teacher.”
“We are looking forward to the wonderful accomplishments Mrs. Hammac will achieve and we wish her good luck as she competes for the ECS Districtwide Teacher of the Year!” Fuqua said.
