Mr. Frank Hale, of Bay Minette, Ala., of Bay Minette, Ala., passed away Thursday, December 22, 2022 at his residence.

Grave Side services will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 at Mutual Aid Cemetery, Bay Minette, Ala.

Mr. Willie Kent, of Brewton, Ala., passed away Monday, December 26, 2022 at West Cate Village, Brewton, Ala.

Thomas Hayles

Hayles

Mr. Thomas Hayles, age 85, of Atmore, Ala. passed away Monday, December 26, 2022 in Atmore, AL.  He was born on June 29, 1937 in Eliska, Ala. to Wesley and Arlie Shipp.  He was an ironworker for many years and later became a residential contractor. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Chris Hayles and his siblings; Marvin Hayles, Ollie Mae Stafford, Helen Colbert, Eubie Hayles, Letha Freeman and Lula Mae Colbert. 

Mr. Hayles is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Janice Pruett Hayles; his son, James “Robbie” Hayles of Lottie, Ala.; his daughter, Kathy Davis of Atmore; his brother, Edison Hayles of Poarch, Ala.; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. 

Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery.  Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore.

Barbara Owens Hall

Ms. Barbara Owens Hall, age 70, of Vacaville, Calif., formerly of Detroit, Mich. and Atmore, Ala. will be held Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Turner Funeral Chapel. Inhumation will be in Fairview Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.

Mr. Lavor C. Johnson, age 43, of Century, Fla. funeral ceremony will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. at First Mt. Zion Baptist Church – Century. Inhumation will be in Century Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.

Dorothy Lee Frye-Dale, age 79, of Atmore, Ala., will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Elizabeth Holiness Baptist Church, Harris St., Atmore with Rev. Abner – Pastor and Bishop Henry Frye – Eulogist.

Inhumation will follow in Fairview Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.

James Arthur Selzer

Mr. James Arthur Selzer, age 79, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022, in Atmore Ala. He was born 1943, in Bradley, Okla. and has resided in Little River, Ala. most of his life. He was a member of Atmore Church of Christ and also served in the United States Navy.He enjoyed nature, especially when searching for rocks and arrowheads. He enjoyed gardening and cooking what he gathered out from his garden. He also enjoyed going fishing, crabbing, and telling good stories about both. He loved to get out with his portable saw mill and cut logs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Joseph (Ollie Bell Jones) Selzer; one son, James Arthur “Punkin” Selzer; four brothers, Charles Ray Selzer, Robert Lee Selzer, Earnest Gene Selzer, Roy Ben Selzer and one sister, Dorothy Faye Neil.

Mr. Selzer is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Linda Gayle Walker Selzer of Little River; two sons, William Joseph “Joey” (Carolyn) Selzer, of Little River and Robert EuGene Selzer and partner Pedro Paz (Pops Mexican) of Mobile, Ala.; six grandchildren, Keith Selzer, Arica Selzer Gohagin, Kody Selzer, Jessica Clark, Gage Gades, Grant Gades; five great- grandchildren, Brody Selzer, Jase Gohagin, Riley Gohagin, Toby Selzer, Brayleigh Selzer; numerous nieces, nephews; one sister-in law, Janice Selzer, of Lindsay, Okla.

Graveside service was held Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Whitmire Cemetery 8400 Whitmire Rd, Pensacola, Fla. 32514 with Bro. Charles Selzer officiating.

Annis Mae Bracken

Mrs. Annis Mae Bracken, age 77, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022, in Bay Minette, Ala. She resided most of her life in Bay Minette. She retired from Street’s Restaurant after working for many years.  She was a very hard and dedicated worker, who really enjoyed her family. She enjoyed gospel music and her flowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie (Mazie Stacey) McMillan; husband, Harold Dean Bracken; one son, Charles Bracken; three daughters, Ann Long, Frankie McDuffie, Virginia Lee, and numerous brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Bracken is survived by her two sons, James M. (Traci) Bracken of Bay Minette; Timothy “Tim” (Madeline) Bracken of West Columbia, S.C.; two daughters, Amy (Clayton) Huggins of Elsanor, Ala., Marie (Jason) Graham of  Loxley, Ala.; three brothers, Ed (Marlene) McMillan of Pine Grove, Ala.; Leon (Patsy) McMillan and Freddie McMillan, all of Uriah, Ala.; four sisters, Merle Williams of Uriah, Eva Williamson and Frankie (James) Cooley, all of Pine Grove, Annette Parnell, of Bay Minette; beloved dog, “TACO”; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral service were held Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC with Rev. Ed McMillan and Rev. Tony McMillan officiating. Burial followed at Bay Minette Cemetery.

The family received friends Saturday, December 31, 2022, from Noon until service time at 1 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC.

Pallbearers were T J Bracken, Cody Butler, Jonathan Weaver, Patrick Weaver, Jeremy Baker, and Hunter Janes.

James Kenneth Taylor

Mr. James Kenneth Taylorne Todd-N2G#

Mr. James Kenneth Taylor, age 73, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022, in Birmingham, Ala. He resided in Brewton, Ala. for forty years before moving to Atmore, Ala. for the past six years. He was a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Monroeville, Ala. He served Escambia County Alabama as the County Circuit Clerk for many years. He loved going to church and spending time with his family. He enjoyed woodworking and making custom ink pens. He enjoyed planting a garden, cutting grass, and Archery.

Mr. Taylor is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Patsy English Taylor of Atmore; one son, Justin (Tiffany) Taylor of Trussville, Ala.; two daughters, Jan (Brandon) Rivers, of Ponchatoula, LA; Jill Taylor, of Atmore, AL; one brother, Rodney “Rod” (JoAnn) Taylor of Uriah, Ala.; one sister, Shelia (Steve) Pugh of Walnut Hill, Fla.; five grandchildren, Wyatt Baker, Alexis Rivers, Olivia Rivers, Anna Taylor, Callie Taylor; two special nieces, Hannah Cooper, Abby Cooper other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 2, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC. with Rev. David Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 2, 2023 from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. p.m.at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC.

Earl Dewayne Crenshaw

Mr. Earl Dewayne Crenshaw, age 43, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022. He was born in Atmore to Earl Dortch and Joyce Crenshaw. He was a graduate of Escambia County High School. He began his Christian journey at Mt. Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Nokomis, Ala. He was a renowned barber and hair stylist.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rosie C. Williams and Charlie Lee Crenshaw, Mary Helen Dortch and Sammie Dortch and one brother, Terry Levon Crenshaw.

Mr. Crenshaw is survived by his parents; bonus children, Jaquan D. Madison and JaNyia Ariana Ka’Nique; siblings, Antonio Crenshaw, Jacqueline (Marvin) Crenshaw, Cynthia Crenshaw, Brenda Crenshaw, Vivian Crenshaw and LaPatrick Smith, all of Atmore, Chris Lewis of Youngstown, Ohio; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Empowerment Tabernacle Christian Center with Bishop Catadro North, Pastor and Pastor D3ennis George, eulogist. Interment followed in Mt. Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Nokomis.

Pallbearers were his nephews and cousins.

Floral Attendants were his nieces and cousins.

Debra Jackson, age 60, of Milton Fla., passed away Monday, December 26, 2022 at her home.
