The House is back in session this week wrapping up a few last-minute items before we adjourn for the year. This Congress has been a challenge fighting back against Democrats in Congress and the Biden administration, but I’m proud of the work we’ve accomplished for south Alabama.
Over the course of the last few years, I’ve held public town halls in virtually every community in our district. If you missed me at one of these, be on the lookout in the coming months because I’ll be hosting many more. My team and I have also responded to mail from more than 36,000 constituents, and we’ve worked with federal agencies on behalf of nearly 2,000 constituents. This includes things like helping folks with passport renewals, retrieving money owed to you by the IRS, and ensuring our veterans get the benefits they’ve earned.
I’ve also introduced and worked on countless bills to preserve our constitutional freedoms and stop big-government nonsense. While House Democrats have not allowed a single vote on any of my bills, I am confident we can make some headway on them next Congress when Republicans have control of the House.
I’ll continue working to unleash American energy and bring fuel prices back down, protect our freedom of speech and right to bear arms, push back on big government overreach, build the wall and fix our immigration crisis, and bring some commonsense back to Washington. This isn’t everything we will be working on, but it’s a good place to start.
Next year will certainly be a busy time, and I look forward to serving you for another term in Congress. In the meantime, I hope you will slow down this Christmas season and reflect on the miracle of Jesus’ birth. The first chapter of John’s gospel tells us, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” God’s love for us defeated evil more than 2,000 years ago, and His love still shines just as brightly today.
As we move toward the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023, Tina and I wish you a happy and healthy 2023. May God bless you and your family this Christmas season.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
