8 Blue Devils named to all-county football team

Powerhouse Sports, an area media company dedicated to promotion through various social media sources of local sports teams in Alabama, Florida and parts of Georgia, has released its first All-Escambia County (Ala.) football team.
The 17-player first team includes five players from Escambia County High School, five from T.R. Miller High, four from Flomaton and three from W.S. Neal.
The first-team blue Devils are quarterback Dakota DeSpain, wide receiver Lorenzo Arnold, offensive linemen Kaiden Arnold and Carmelo Turner, and defensive back Lebron Hooks.
DeSpain completed 83 of 177 passes for 1,579 yards and 19 touchdowns this year; Lorenzo Arnold caught 27 of those passes for 554 yards and 8 TDs. Kaiden Arnold and Turner led the blocking for an ECHS team that averaged 302.1 yards of offense per game, and Hooks snagged 9 interceptions, among the most in the nation.
Three additional ECHS players were named to the second team, which features 14 players, also including five from T.R. Miller and three each from Flomaton and W.S. Neal.
Linebackers Exavion Brandley, who led the Blue Devils with 59 tackles, and Jovaughnta “Tae” Henderson, who tallied 42 tackles as a sophomore, were named to the second team, as was defensive lineman Christian Lee, who recorded 28 tackles.
