Special to Atmore News

The Perdido Raiders won their second straight championship recently, claiming the 2022 Baldwin County 1A football championship.
The student athletes showed tenacity as they battled through the ups and downs of their season.
The Raiders were led by head coach Vincent Coley and assistant coach Josh Overstreet. Notable standouts on the offensive side of the field were receiver Traegan James, who scored 12 touchdowns; quarterback Jerry Sellers, who threw 10 touchdown passes, and running back Brantly Vinson, who ran in numerous 2-point conversions.
Offensive linemen Cody Gardner, B.W. Slay and Bentley Hall moved the opposing defensive line time and time again.
The Raider defensive line, the shield upon which the opponents’ hopes broke, had standout players as well, such as linemen Hunter Hadley and Devonta Stapleton, and linebackers James Fajardo, Hunter Smith, and Caleb Aaron.
