Murder suspect arrested here

News Staff Report

An early Tuesday (October 18) domestic incident resulted in the arrest of a Florida murder suspect who was on the lam.
Atmore Police Department Sgt. Darrell McMann reported mid-morning Tuesday that police were sent to a Marshall Avenue residence around 5:45 a.m. Their investigation of the domestic incident led to the arrest of the fugitive.
“When they ran him (did a computer criminal check), the warrant came up,” said McMann, who explained that the suspect was sought by Escambia County, Fla. authorities on a murder charge.
The fugitive, whose identity police had not released by Tuesday’s press deadline, remained in the Escambia County Detention Center late Tuesday morning.
