NHS wins big over Blountstown

The Northview High School Chiefs had yet another great win on the road last Friday night, October 7, in Blountstown. Even though it was a long ride for the Chiefs, their performance did not falter. With a final score of 49-0, it is safe to say their season is continuing to look promising. Northview is currently undefeated with a stellar record of 6-0.
In the first quarter, Blountstown had possession of the ball first, but they did not score. However, when the Chiefs got the ball, they took it to their advantage with a touchdown from Jamarkus Jefferson. With a good kick from Brandon Ferguson, the Chiefs were quickly up 7-0. When the Tigers got the ball back, Northview’s defense held them, and they were not able to score. Northview soon got the ball back, and Jefferson ran it into the end zone for his second touchdown of the night. Ferguson’s extra point was good, which brought up the Chiefs 14-0. Blountstown was still not able to score on their possession, which gave the ball back to the Chiefs. Maliki Haynes scored the third touchdown of the night, which brought the Chiefs up even more. Ferguson’s kick was good yet again, and the Chiefs were up 21-0.
Further into the first half of the ball game, Blountstown was still not able to move past the Chiefs’ defense. Northview soon got the ball back and Jefferson ran in for another Chief touchdown. Northview went for the extra point and it was good; the score was then 28-0. Blountstown attempted to score, but they were not very successful. The Chiefs soon got the ball back and scored, along with the extra point. The score was 35-0 at halftime.
In the second half of the game, the Chiefs continued to dominate the field. Luke Bridges ran the ball in for a touchdown. With the extra point by Ferguson being good once again, the Chiefs raised the score to 42-0. The Tigers got the ball back several times in the second half, but they still could not score. When Northview got the ball back, Bridges scored again. Ferguson’s extra point was good, which brought the final score to 48-0.
What a game for the Northview Chiefs. Their season has been a tremendous success so far, which has fans from all over the community supporting them every Friday night, even three hours away in Blountstown. Their final district game of the season is this Friday in Jay against the Royals. This is a long time local rivalry, and the Chiefs will be traveling across the river this week to put up another good fight. Make sure to be there, it’s going to be a great game. It starts at 7!
