Class of 1962 ‘takes a seat’

The Escambia County High School Class of 1962 donated $500 for a theater seat in the Strand Theater which is being renovated. The class will be commemorated with a plaque on a seat as will everyone who donates $500 in the fund-raising campaign.
Class President Joyce Sasser Brown issued the following challenge: “We would like to challenge all the graduating classes of ECHS to do the same.”
Classmates making the presentation Thursday, September 15, were Ann Amos Bell, Jimmy Brown, Joyce Sasser Brown, G.W. (Jeepy) Ford, Bobby Freeman, Dr. Roy Gandy.
Representing the Pride of Atmore were Dale Ash, Foster Kizer, and Sandy Helton, whose dad, Jimmy, was a member of the Class of 1962.
