Man hits ex-wife with baseball bat

An Atmore man remained in the county jail late Monday, August 22, two days after he allegedly used a baseball bat to settle an argument with his ex-wife.
Atmore Police Department reports show that 28-year-old LaKeith Reynolds, 28, was arrested August 20 after a woman, once married to Reynolds but separated and not currently living with him, came to police headquarters around 6 p.m. and reported the incident.
Officers went to a Martin Luther King Drive residence and discovered that the couple had been arguing about whom the other had been texting. She accused him of striking her; he accused her of striking him, police said.
Officers determined that Reynolds struck the woman in the leg with a wooden baseball bat. She had bruising and swelling to the area that was struck.
Reynolds is charged with second-degree domestic violence, a Class B felony.
