Rosie Lee McGougin Byrd

Mrs. Rosie Lee McGougin Byrd, age 81, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2022 in Bay Minette, Ala.  She was born in Brewton, Ala. to the late James and Inez Lowe McGougin. She was a member of Little Rock Church of Assembly of the Lord Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Carl Winston Byrd, Sr.

Mrs. Byrd is survived by her children, Carl Winston (Cynthia) Byrd, Jr., Melvin Byrd, all of Little Rock, Ala. and Tammy Graham of Robinsonville, Ala.; her sisters, Willamae Blackmon, Mary Lambeth and Margie Baggett, all of Brewton, Ala. and Annie Asberry of Excel, Ala.; six grandchildren, Jacob Byrd, Heather Presley, Brittany Kelley, Dustin Graham, Noah Graham and Taylor Graham along with her five great-grandchildren and her dear fur baby, Trixie.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 7, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Daniels officiating. Interment will follow in Little Rock Cemetery in Little Rock, Ala.

Active pallbearers will be Adam Kelley, Taylor Graham, Dustin Graham, Micah Byrd, Kevin Baggett and Kevin Rabun.

Honorary pallbearers will be Noah Graham, Jayden Presley, Jeffery Patterson, Jacob Byrd, Kayleigh Presley, Payton Kelley and Adalyn Kelley.

The family receive friends Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 1:30 p.m. until service time at 2:30 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Willis “Cruz” Bradley McGhee     

McGhee

Mr. Willis “Cruz” Bradley McGhee, age 33, of Poarch, Ala., passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022. He was born in Bay Minette, Ala. to Gary Gibson and Janet McGhee. He was employed in construction work and was a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. Fred and Luverne Ward. 

Mr. McGhee is survived by his parents, Janet and Randall Ward; his father, Gary Gibson; his children, Marlie McGhee and Cash Sellers; his grandparents, Curtis and Betty Peacock, Willis “Kent” and Tracy McGhee and Larry and Carolyn Gibson; his siblings, Nicole (Eddie) Peska, Blake Ward, Tori Ward and Ashley Gibson along with his special friend, Sydni Weatherholtz.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 5 p.m. at Friendly Holiness Church with Bro. Ray Ward, Speaker, Rhea Shea DeVilbiss and Bro. David Bryars officiating. Interment

will follow in New Home Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from 3 p.m. until service time at 5 p.m. at Friendly Holiness Church.

Active pallbearers will be Gage McGhee, Ian McGhee, Dylan McGhee, Scott DeVilbiss, Jamie Barber, Caleb Ray Hadley, Trent McGhee and Trent Freeman.

Charles Howard Hall

Mr. Charles Howard Hall, age 68, passed away Friday, August 5, 2022 while in Covenant Care at Sacred Heart Hospital Pensacola, Fla. He was born in Atmore, Ala. and resided most of his life in Walnut Hill, Fla. He was self-employed as a carpenter the latter years of his life while also serving many years in the oil field early in his career. He loved to hunt, fish and enjoyed spending time “tinkering” with small engines. He was a selfless person always willing to lend a hand to those in need. He dearly loved his dogs, had a good joke to tell at the right moment, and never missed an opportunity to pull a prank. His passion was “ALABAMA FOOTBALL.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Dorothy Mothershed Hall; three sisters, Wanda Hall, Lila Lynn Smith, and Linda Hall.
Mr. Hall is survived by his son, Westly (Sallie) Woodruff of Gulf Shores, Ala.; two brothers, Dempsey (Mary) Hall of Century, Fla. and Eugene Hall of Atmore; five sisters, Margie Chunn of Birmingham, Ala., Ruby (Gary) Waller of Brewton, Ala., Elizabeth “Connie” (Pierce) Conway of Little Rock, Ala., Deborah “Debbie” (Gaines) Youngblood of Stockton, Ala., Missie Moore of Mobile, Ala.; his grandchild, Madeline Woodruff of Gulf Shores and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC with Rev. Don Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Barren Cemetery in Bratt, Fla.
The family will receive friends Tuesday August 9, 2022 from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Peebles, Brian Burkett, David Chunn, Jeff Ready, Lawrence Peebles and Timothy Bartley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lester Peebles and Tony Walker.

Charles Jones

Rev. Charles Jones, age 63, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital, Pensacola, Fla.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Noon at First Baptist Church in McCullough, Ala.

There will be no public viewing on Friday, only on Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 11 a.m. until Noon.
