Chamber secures grant for TBP bathrooms

Have you visited Tom Byrne Park lately? Did you attend Mayfest 2022? If you did, chances are you noticed the freshly painted bathrooms! The Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce received a grant through the Gulf Coast Resource, Conservation, and Development Council (Gulf Coast RC&D) to update the park bathrooms.
With the funds received, the Chamber was able to purchase materials such as primer, paint, new sink fixtures, new lighting, new toilets, lumber for new stalls, and labor for the project. As part the Chamber’s goal to ensure money stays local, the majority of the resources purchased through the grant were from local Chamber member businesses – namely Bondurant Ace Hardware & Lumber.
The Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce invites you to enjoy an afternoon at Tom Byrne Park. While you’re there, check out the completed project. The Chamber is glad to be able to give back to the community that gives so much to us.
