Fay Kathleen Turk

Mrs. Fay Kathleen Turk, age 76, passed away Monday, April 11, 2022 in Pensacola, Fla. She was born in Millbock Springs, Penn. and resided there up until the past forty-two years of living in Flomaton, Ala. She was a member of First Baptist Church Flomaton.  She always enjoyed the family picnics together, cooking, playing games, and walks. She was a very hard worker. She also enjoyed fishing and camping. She was an avid Alabama Football Fan!

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Naomi Fredrick Gibble; one son, Steven Lee Wolford and one son in-law, Tracy Steadham.

Mrs. Turk is survived by her loving husband of forty-eight years, William Curtis Turk of Flomaton, Ala.; two sons, Dennis (Susan) Wolford of Flomaton and Mike (Sherry) Wolford of Brewton, Ala.; two daughters, Theresa (Steve) Hanks of Bratt, Fla. and Kathy Steadham of Century, Fla.; three brothers,  Harry Gibble, Jr. and Paul (Wendy) Gibble, all of Lebanon, Penn. and Dale Gibble, of Texas; three sisters, Ruth Ann (Vernon) Balmer of Riceville, Penn., Mary Zimmerman of Lebanon and Linda Gibble of Myerstown, Penn.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 2 p.m.at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC with Bro. Tim Hawsey officiating. Burial will follow at Flomaton Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC.

Pallbearers will be Brett Hanks, Steve Hanks, Davy Hanks, Casey Steadham, Ricky Fretwell, Mike Wolford.

Rusty Lee Johnson

Mr. Rusty Lee Johnson, age 52, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2022 at his home in Perdido, Ala.. He was born in Atmore, Ala; and resided most of his life in Gulf Shores, Ala.  He retired from driving a bus with many years of service. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, driving buses for schools and for the special needs children for their Olympics. He enjoyed going to Mardi gras.

He was preceded in death by his father, Willie D. Johnson. 

Mr. Johnson is survived by his mother, Mrs. Martha Lambeth of Perdido; two brothers, Ricky Johnson and Randy Johnson, both of Perdido; two half-sisters, Kiesha Mothershed andKallie Mothershed, both of Atmore; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Memorial service will be held Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 7 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC with Pastor Audrey McAroy and Bro.Malcolm Harrelson officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 21, 2022 from 6 until service time at 7 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC.

James Rickey Dunn

Mr. James Rickey Dunn, age 61, passed away Friday, March 25, 2022 at his home in Flomaton, Ala. He was born in Mobile, Ala. and has resided most of his life in Flomaton. 

He was preceded in death by his father, James Clinton Dunn and grandparents, John and Genieve Biggs, and Jimmy and Jesse Dunn.

Mr. Dunn is survived by his mother, Carolyn Boutwell of Flomaton; one brother, Tod (Vanessa) Dunn, of Century, Fla.; one sister, Patricia Dunn, of Flomaton; one nephew, Jeremy Dunn, of Flomaton; two nieces, Lisa Dunn Hagan, of Flomaton and Amanda Dunn Kyser, of Mobile, Ala.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

John “Ray” McKinley

Mr. John “Ray” McKinley, age 88, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022 peacefully at his home in Atmore, Ala. He was born in McCullough, Ala. and resided most of his life in Atmore.  He was a member of Liberty Church of Atmore. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Alfred and Lee Ila Allen McKinley; three sons, Tony McKinley, Donald McKinley, Joseph McKinley; one step-son, James David Odom; several brothers, and sisters.

Mr. McKinley is survived by his loving wife of twenty-two years, Lillie McKinley of Atmore; two sons, Andy McKinley and Mitchell (Sandra) McKinley, all of Atmore; step-son, Timothy Odom of Atmore; three daughters, Janice Bush of Robertsdale, Ala., Judy (Grady) Harris of Flomaton, Ala. and Barbara (Johnny) Burkett, of Atmore; one brother, Billy (Joyce) Stinson of Uriah, Ala.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Memorial service will be held Monday, April 25, 2022 at 5 p.m. at Liberty Church with Rev. Fred Brumett, and Rev. Tim Wetzel officiating.

Laura Bell Leslie

Funeral service for Mrs. Laura Bell Leslie, age 95, of Atmore, Ala., will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Greater Mt. Triumph Baptist Church – Atmore with Rev. Willie Hawthorne, Pastor, officiating.

Nelson Riley

Funeral service for Mr. Nelson Riley, age 61, of Atmore, Ala.,  will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Holy Community Center – Atmore with Elder Irma Wilson, Pastor and Bishop Dashwood Riley, eulogist. Inhumation will be held in Stallworth Cemetery.

Maurice Austin, Sr.

Mr. Maurice Austin, Sr., age 59, of Stockton, Ala. Passed away Thursday, April 14, 2022 at North Baldwin Infirmary in Bay Minette, Ala.

Funeral services are incomplete at this time but will be announced by Turner Funeral Chapel.

James Rivers

Mr.James Rivers, age 65, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Monday, April 18, 2022 at his home.

Michael Dewayne Hobson

Mr. Michael Dewayne Hobson, age 49, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Friday, April 8, 2022. He was born to Marion and Barbara Hobson in Hopkinsville, Ky. He was a proud graduate of Christian County High School. He was employed Genie Stuart Hospital in Ky.; Dental Ez in Bay Minette, Ala.; Aaron’s in both Brewton and Spanish Fort, Ala.; Westminster Village in Spanish Fort and Security Service in Montgomery, Ala.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandchild, Makenna Aubrey Belle Hobson; grandparents, Paul and Anna Briggs and Mose Hobson and Margaret Wisdom.

Mr. Hobson is survived by his wife, Nedra N. Henderson Hobson of Atmore; a devoted bonus mom, Mary Hobson of Hopkinsville; devoted mother and father-in-law, Minister Obrice and Martha Henderson of Atmore; one son, Ty’ree Dewayne Hobson of Hopkinsville; six sisters, Taffy (A) Marshall, Sharon Jackson, Shakella Martin, Linda Elliot, Laura (Torris) Harris, Kim (Shen) Johnson and Latoya Sinquefield; one grandson, Kyler Hobson of Hopkinsville; three bonus children Miss La’Asia Henderson, Mriah Leslie and TJ Leslie; three brother-in-law, Alvin (Karen Gray), Robert Times and Demetric (Tella) Henderson; special friend, Anthony Tate; very special childhood friend, Charolotte Perkins and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Noon at El Bethel Holiness Church with Apostle Louis Banks, Sr. Pastor and Eulogist. Interment followed at Fairview Cemetery.

Pall bearers were Wayne Howard, Ivan Jackson, De’Andre Walker, Anthony Tate. Demetric Henderson, Da’John Walker Robert Tims.

Floral attendants were his family and friends.
