Frances Ruth Poyser Weis

Weis

Mrs. Frances Ruth Poyser Weis, 89, of Huntingtown, Md., passed away in Prince Frederick, Md. Monday, March 21, 2022. She was born in West Palm Beach, Fla. to the late Leo and Ruth Collins Poyser. She attended college and married Don Feeser, with whom she had two sons and one daughter. She later married Rev. Carl Albert “Bert” Weis, III. She was raised in Pensacola, Fla. with a strong passion to music. Known as Misty, she sang and played both the accordion and piano. She loved youth and earlier had a studio where she taught young people to play accordion, then arranged them into accordion bands that played at various events.  Later she toured and performed, she even cut a record. She played the piano for worship services in Methodist churches in Alabama and in Pensacola for over 20 years.

She and her husband, Bert, owned a pet store in Pensacola, Misty’s Aquatique featuring exotic birds and fish. She would hire youth to work in the store teaching them how to care for the animals. She loved beautiful things and always wanted to share.  She would have her young employees stand outside the store holding the birds for all to see.

Her children and her family remember her smile the most.  She was extremely expressive when she spoke and often waived her hands to make a point. Also remembered was how she would write songs and send the sheet music out to family members for birthdays and holidays.

She moved from Atmore, Ala. to Calvert County, Md. over seven years ago to be with her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Angela Feeser. She had been an active member of Huntingtown United Methodist Church.

She was predeceased by her husbands, Don Feeser and Carl Weis, III; her sister, Sharon Williams and her brother-in-law, Bill Williams.

Mrs. Weis is survived by her sons, Colin (May) Feeser and Michael (Angela) Feeser; daughter, Angela Collins Feeser; brother, Marvin (Debby) Poyser; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
