EA boys finish first in track meet

The 2022 Escambia Academy Cougars’ field and track season is well under way. EA kicked off with a bang as the boys track team posted a first-place finish during the Rebel-Cat Invitational held recently at the University of Montevallo Monday, February 28.
The EA team gained a first-place finish during the meet, earning 218 points during the win. Lee-Scott Academy finished second with 107 points and Banks Academy placed third with 99 points. The Cougars girls track team walked away with a fourth-place finish during the invitational, logging 61.50 points.
EA top three finishes from each event are as follows:

  • 100-meter dash – Devin Kelly, second place
  • 200-meter dash – Devin Kelly, second place
  • 200-meter dash – Bubba Nettles, third place
  • 400-meter dash – Bubba Nettles, second place
  • 800-meter run – Tyler Ragan, first place
  • 800-meter run – Carson Wilson, second place
  • 1600-meter run – Danny Doerr, third place
  • 110-meter hurdles – Landon Sims, first place
  • 110-meter hurdles – Devin Kelly, second place
  • 110-meter hurdles – Maliki Haynes, third place
  • 300-meter hurdles – Maliki Haynes, second place
  • 300-meter hurdles – Landon Sims, third place
  • 4×100 meter relay – EA team, first place
  • 4×200 meter relay – EA team, second place
  • 4×400 meter relay – EA team, first place
