Atmore City Council approved six separate resolutions and named two individuals to the city’s zoning board during the council’s Monday, December 13, meeting.
Each of the resolutions was passed unanimously, with no discussion and no comment, by city governors, who also voted in unison to appoint Elliott Faircloth and Shaquanda Kyles to the Board of Zoning Adjustments.
The first resolution was to allow Civil Southeast to apply for funds under the Alabama Department of Transportation’s Rebuild Alabama Act Annual Grant Program to resurface and improve drainage on the city’s portion of Ross Road.
Next was a resolution authorizing Mayor Jim Staff to do everything necessary to procure an Airport Rescue Grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation for various improvements at Atmore Municipal Airport.
Council members also authorized a lease agreement with Motorola Solutions for acquisition of unspecified communications equipment for the police department, as well as the purchase for $65,302 of two sets of extrication tools for the fire department.
Authorization was also given a “Release of Converter Conditions” that was given to Escambia County Healthcare Authority. No explanation was offered.
The final resolution approved “the Non-Exclusive Easement for Ingress and Egress given to the Escambia County Health Care Authority” and authorized the mayor to sign it on behalf of the city. Again, no explanation was offered.
