William Ellis “Hank” Sprinkle

Mr. William Ellis “Hank” Sprinkle, age 87, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at his home in Bay Minette, Ala. He was born in Bayou La Batre, Ala. and has lived most of his life in Bay Minette. He valued the time he spent with his family. He enjoyed dog hunting and hearing a good race. He loved his dogs, Lighting, and Baby girl, as much as they did him, feeding them “oatmeal cookies”. He was a lifetime member of Rabun Sportsman Club. He also enjoyed turkey and rabbit hunting. He loved Atlanta Braves Baseball, and Alabama Football.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George (Ester Ola Cox) Sprinkle, two sisters, Myrtle Stewart, and Hilda Felix.
Mr. Sprinkle is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years, Marie Sprinkle of Bay Minette; one son, Thomas (Regina) Sprinkle of Rabun, Ala.; three daughters, Arnita Sturgill, of Wheelwright, Ky., Brenda Harris and Cynthia Sprinkle, both of Bay Minette; one brother, David Sprinkle, of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Rhonda Barber, of Splendora, Texas and Ola (Dennis) Johnson, of Irvington, Ala.; twelve grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 22, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. at Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC with Rev. Alan Lord and Rev. Billy Roberson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, October 22, 2021 from 11:30 a.m. until service time at 12:30 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC.
Pallbearers will be Mike Irwin, Shawn Irwin, Jimmy Aldridge, Rogerdale Hadley, Jason Pierce, Sam Pierce, and Deanie Hadley.

Austin Brett Bonds

Funeral services for Austin Brett Bonds will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Noon at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel in Atmore, Ala. with Pastor Richard Daniel officiating. Interment will follow at Bay Springs Cemetery in Bay Springs, Fla. 

The family will receive friends Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 11 a.m. until service time.

Georgia Godwin Avery

Mrs. Georgia Godwin Avery, age 83, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021 in Dothan, Ala. She was born in Atmore, Ala. to the late Archie Eugene Godwin and Eunice Wiggins Godwin. She was a retired bookkeeper and enjoyed Pretty Punch embroidery and crocheting, ceramics and dancing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Earl “Butch” Avery; one brother, Ernest “Gene” Godwin; one sister, Flora Vaughn.
Mrs. Avery is survived by her son, Donald C. (Sharon) Beck; three grandchildren, Brandy Hackett (Josh), Shain Beck (Courtney) and Nikalie Beck (India); nine great-grandchildren, Gaydin, Crager, Lilly, Trystyn, Landon, Elizabeth, Bronwyn, Harmony, and Keilan; one great-great-grandchild, Flynn; one sister, Marietta Downer of Bratt, Fla.; other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Godwin Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Cortney R. Martin

Mr. Cortney R. Martin of Atmore, Ala., passed away Friday, October 15, 2021. He was born August 22, 1979 in Atmore to Jacquelyn Henderson, of Atmore, and the late John D. Martin.

He is preceded in death by his father, and maternal and paternal grandparents.

He is survived by his mother, Jacquelyn Henderson of Atmore; his wife, DeTecia Johnson; two daughters, Nastassja Lee of Atlanta, Georgia, and Corteyia Martin of Atmore; four sons, Cortney Martin Jr. of Gonzales, Louisiana, Getyron Cortez Martin of Atmore, Cameron Coneya Martin of Atmore, LaCody Martin of Atmore; two bonus sons, Daquaun Mehki Montgomery and Shakur Treyon Simmons, both of Atmore; two sisters, Keysha Henderson and Ivory (Houston) Warner of D’Iberville, Miss.; three brothers, Kevin (Felisha) Henderson and Mitchell (Elizabeth) Henderson, both of Atmore, and Cee Cee Pogue; step-father Thomas Earl Watson; Godmother, Patricia Burks; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Destiny Worship Center, with Dr. Bernard Bishop, Officiating Presider, and Prophet Michael Henderson, Eulogist.

Pallbearers were Kendrick Henderson, Corey Henderson, Ray Charles Martin, Dante Haynes, Jabari Arnold, La Marlon Hixon, Norman Henderson Jr., Jerimo Martin.

Internment was in Fairview Cemetery, Atmore.

Nelda Grace Brown

Nelda Grace Brown of Atmore, Alabama, peacefully passed away at her home surrounded by family and friends Tuesday, October 19, 2021.
