Joan A. Bogdan                       

Joan A. Bogdan, age 79, of Davisville, Fla., passed away Monday, July 26, 2021, at her residence in Davisville.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Saint Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Atmore, Ala. with Father Gordon Milsted officiating.  Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore.

Edward Farrar Barnett, Sr.

Barnett

Mr. Edward Farrar Barnett, Sr., age 73, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2021 in Pensacola, Fla. He was born in Atmore to the late Elbert “Ned” and Ethel Prestwood Barnett.

He was a graduate of The University of Alabama where he received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration. He was vice-president and general office manager of Barnett Construction, Inc.  He retired and enjoyed spending time with family and especially enjoyed fishing with friends and family. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren. He loved the Lord and he shared that love with all that he knew and came in contact with both in word and deed. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Preston Barnett, Glenn Barnett and nephew, Miles Bridgman. 

Mr. Barnett is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Carol Gwen Owens Barnett; son, Edward Farrar Barnett, Jr. of Atmore; daughter, Leigh (John Murray) Ikner of Huxford, Ala.; brother, Jimmy (Kathy) Barnett of Uriah, Ala.; sisters, Beverly (Johnny) Sanslow of Bristol, Va. and Sally (Bill) Bridgman of Atmore and five grandchildren, Morgan, Cowen, Sophia, Emeri and Mattox as well as numerous nephews and nieces. 

Funeral service were held Friday, July 30, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Cornelius Phillips officiating. Interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore. 

Active pallbearers were Jameson Kelley, Randall Barnett, Jason Barnett, Jon Owens, Randall Owens, Jamie Owens, Cowen Ingram and John Murray Ikner. 

Honorary pallbearers were Randy Kelley, Robert Hudson, Hugh Long, Jimmy Morgan, Joe Brantley, Nicky Calhoun, Richard Moore, Rickie Moore, Ryan James, David Ragan, Gary Hare, Bernard Peacock, members of 1966 high school graduation class. 

The family received friends Friday, July 30, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Pilots for Christ or charity of your choice. 

Face mask are welcomed but are not required.

Billy Darnell Findley

Mr. Billy Darnell Findley, age 66, passed away Friday, July 30, 2021 in Mobile, Ala. He had lived most of his life in Perdido, Ala. and was a member of Hall’s Fork Holiness Church. He liked to buy old cars and fix them up and buy old guns. He loved his dogs KeKe and Jack.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Findley and his wife, Deloris Maddox.
Mr. Findley is survived by his mother, Mrs. Ruby and Mr. Bradley Hadley of Perdido; two brothers, Don Findley of Lottie, Ala. and Tommy Findley (Kay) of New Orleans, La.; one sister, Susan Barlow (Terry) of Brewton, Ala.; seven nieces, nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Wendell Hadley officiating. Burial will follow at Perdido Baptist Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from 2 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Roger Hadley, Paul Brown, Brian Enfinger, Arthur Ramer, Lorenzo Graham and Colton Ramer.

Deborah Denise Weekley

Mrs. Deborah Denise Weekley, age 63, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2021 in Mobile. Ala. She dedicated her life to being the best wife, mother and grandmother. She was also an animal lover. She took care of her animals better than she took care of herself.
She was preceded in death by her parents, D.C. Arrington and Rosetta Quinley and brother, James “Shorty” Travis.
Mrs. Weekley is survived by her husband, Harold “Bo” Weekley of Perdido, Ala.; three daughters, Melissa Tyree (Jason), Tonya Whatley, all of Bay Minette, Ala. and Amanda Hoven of Perdido; six grandchildren, Brandon Howell, Kaleb Howell, Haley Johnson, Sophie Knowles, Kayla Tyree and Jason Tyree Jr.; three sisters, Mary “Penny” Johnson and Sherrie Creppel, both of Bay Minette and Barbara “Bobbie” Smith of Perdido; one great-grandchild, Kaisley Lambeth, three bonus children, Nicole Thomaston, Jonathon Singleton and Eric Singleton; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Graveside services were held Friday, July 30, 2021 at Guy’s Chapel Cemetery at 11 a.m. with Sister: Wanda Hadley officiating.
The family received friends Friday, July 30, 2021 from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC.
Pallbearers will be Joe Tyree, Logan Lambeth, Eric Watts, Bimbo German, Billy German and Allen Creppel.

Luverne Knowles

Mrs. Luverne Knowles, age 79, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2021 in Pensacola, Fla. She lived most of her life in the Flomaton, Ala. area and was a member of Little Escambia Baptist Church. She loved her family dearly and always loved spending time with them. She loved sitting on her front porch watching her favorite birds (blue birds and humming birds).  She could often be caught sitting around crocheting, cross stitching and sewing. She was an avid gardener and loved working in her flower garden. Back in the day at any given time you could find her in her shop “Luverne’s Ceramic Shop” making ceramics and painting them, something she always loved to do.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Morris and Mamie Odom Morris; two brothers, James Morris, Junior Morris; one sister, Lucille Conway and daughter-in-law, Krystle Knowles.
Mrs. Knowles is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Edmond Knowles of Flomaton; two sons, Larry Knowles (Teresa) and Marcus Knowles, all of Brewton, Ala.; two daughters, Debbie Simmons (Eddie) and Lisa Knowles, all of Flomaton, AL; five grandchildren, Meredith Wolfe, Alayna Simmons, Nathan Knowles, Jack Knowles and Alex Gatwood; four great-grandchildren, Scarlett Boutwell, Elias Wolfe, Grayson Najor and Payton Gatwood; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathon Hill and Rev. Larry Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Little Escambia Cemetery.

David Jackson Mosley

Mr. David Jackson Mosley, age 61, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021 in Perdido, Ala. He was a lifelong resident of the Lottie, Ala. area and a member of the New Home Church. He was employed with Robertsdale Feed Store for many years and a caretaker of New Home Cemetery. He loved riding four wheelers, fishing, and giving everyone a hard time. He was a very hard worker and loved cutting grass. He was very dedicated to his friends and family and always there to help anyone in need. He had a big heart and little patience. He never said “Hello” his “HELLO” was $75.00.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Lillie Mae Mosley and best friend Bill Hadley.
Mr. Mosley is survived by one brother, Bennie Mosley and a very special sister-in-law Reba Mosley; a bonus sister, Elaine Hadley Gilliam; many nieces, nephews and very close friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday August 6, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC with Sister Louise Parker and Rev. Joe Welch officiating. Burial will follow at Lottie New Home Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC.

Michael Williams

Mr. Michael Williams. Of Atmore, Ala., passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 6, 2021 from 1 until 5 p.m. at the Funeral Chapel.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Stallworth Cemetery in Atmore.

Ida M. Sanders of Atmore, Ala., passed away Monday, August 2, 2021 at Century Nursing Home.

Joan Theresa Guerra

Ms. Joan Theresa Guerra, age 84, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021 in Pensacola, Fla. She was born to the late William and Elizabeth Butler. She was of the Catholic faith. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Tommy Butler. 

Ms. Guerra is survived by her son, Steven (Martha) Breceda of Robinsonville, Ala.; her daughter, Brenda Singh of Atmore; her sister, Judith Pesquierra of Atmore; three grandchildren, Heather, Haley and Rosie along with five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Breceda officiating.

Hank Peyton Williams

Mr. Hank Peyton Williams, age 42, passed away Monday, July 26, 2021 at his Flomaton, Ala. residence.  He was born in Atmore, Ala. and had been a long-time resident of the Flomaton area, coming from Old Town, Fla. He was a member of the Flomaton High School Class of 1997.  He did maintenance work for South Alabama Materials, and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanette Williams; a son, Jacob Logan Anderson.

Mr. Williams is survived by his father, Peyton (Barbara) Williams of Atmore; his wife of seventeen years, Brenda Williams of Flomaton; son, Lee (Mia) Anderson of Ocala, Fla.; daughter, Crystal (Jett) Tjader of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; one sister, Mary Kay (Craig) Stratton of Bradenton, Fla.; grandchildren, Tristen Anderson, Lillee Anderson, Rozliynn Anderson, Logan Malachi Anderson, and Jett Tjader.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Little Escambia Baptist Church with Bro. Waylon Stuckey officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Little Escambia Baptist Church from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Gideons International or to the Little Escambia Baptist Church Building Fund.
