Eight receive diplomas
Eight area students enrolled in Samford’s Ministry Training Institute, Escambia Extension at First Baptist Church Atmore, received Diploma of Biblical Studies for two years of study. Glad to be back!
The folks at the Atmore SAIL Center are happy to be back together. Director Charlotte Purvis, sitting in the rocking chair, said the center reopened June 1, and the staff, with the help of Comfort Care Hospice, held a welcome back get-together Friday, June 11. The Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Jack’s Family Restaurant Wednesday, June 9. Poodle show!
Kids of all ages enjoyed Michelle’s Magical Poodles Friday, June 11, at the Atmore Public Library. The pups did a number of tricks much to the delight of the audience. There was also a time for kids to pet the poodles if they wanted to. The show was part of the library’s summer reading program. This Friday’s program, 10 a.m., is a wild west show.
