Special to Atmore News

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Fort Mims and Zachariah Godbold chapters hosted Tammy Bradshaw Clemons, the State Regent of the Alabama Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, at a luncheon on June 12. The event was held at Montgomery Hill Baptist Church in Stockton.
Due to the proximity of Flag Day on June 14, table decorations carried out that theme, with each member receiving a miniature flag pin to wear. A delightful salad lunch was served, along with a delicious assortment of desserts. Following lunch, Timothy Guy and Karen White from Theater 98 in Fairhope, presented a program titled “Matters of the Heart,” which showcased letters written by soldiers to their loved ones at home. Especially moving was one from President Washington.
Fort Mims members present from Atmore were Katie Dreadin, Linda Ellison, and Nancy Karrick. Also present from Atmore were Nancy Martin and Phyllis Shipp.
