Scotty Earl Bradley
Mr. Scotty Earl Bradley, age 54, of Brewton, Ala., passed away Friday, April 16, 2021 in Baptist Hospital, Pensacola, Fla. He was born to the late Herman Bradley, Sr. and the late Margaret Brown in Escambia County, Ala. He was a graduate of Southern Normal High School, Brewton. He received a degree from Reid State Technical College and was employed at Hines Realty for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Vera M. Bradley, Herman L. Bradley, Jr. and Danny Bradley; Demorris Bradley, nephew.
Mr. Bradley is survived by two sons, Scotty Bradley, Jr. and Rasheed Bradley, both of Brewton; sister, Barbara (Anthony) Green of Japan; grandchildren, Zahir Dune, Khamani Dunne; sisters-in-law, Julia Bradley, Novilla Richards, Minnie Prime; uncles, Willie Anderson, Eugene Anderson; host of nieces, nephews, family, neighbors and friends; special friends, Bert Barton and Alphonso Wesley.
Graveside services were held Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Bergen Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Kenneth Watson, officiating.
Pallbearers were family and friends.

Idodi (Toosweet) Gray
Ms. Idodi (Toosweet) Gray, age 51, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021. She was born in Boston, Mass. She was educated in Wilcox County, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Gray, Sr. and beloved fiancé Clifford Earl Montgomery; one sister, Geraldine Dortch and one brother, Melvin Jerome Dortch.
Ms. Gray is survived by her mother, Dorothy Dortch of Atmore; one sister, Mary Jane Dortch of Lower Peachtree, Ala; four brothers, Wilford Dortch, Sr. of Coy, Ala., Charles (Margaret) Dortch of Atmore, James Dortch of Yellow Bluff, Ala. and James (Wanda) Gray of Pensacola, Fla.; one daughter, Emma Joe Faith Montgomery of New York, N.Y.; uncle: Jessie Lee Dortch; three devoted sisters-in-law, Barbara (Elvin) Gulley, Rosaline Moore, and Paulette Askew; one special friend, Gwedlyn; a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Tates Community Church with Rev. Isiah Perry, Pastor officiating. Interment followed at Tates Chapel Cemetery, Coy, Ala.
Pallbearers and flower bearers were family and friends.

William Allen Mauldin


Mr. William Allen Mauldin, age 66, of Atmore, Ala. passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021. He lived in Bratt, Fla. the majority of his life, but had resided in Atmore for the past ten years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, where he served as an E-4.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Garfield Mauldin and Margaret Blanton Mauldin; one brother, Gary Michael Mauldin and a grandchild, Emma Garrett.
Mr. Mauldin is survived by his wife, Peggy Nell Mauldin of Atmore; one son, Steven (Krista) Mauldin of Bratt; two daughters, Jennifer (Beau) Lehmann of Bay Minette, Ala. and Kristy (Earl) Garrett of McDavid , Fla.; three step-daughters, Daphne (Brian) Peebles of Stapleton, Ala.; Angela Lassiter of Atmore and Amanda (Jim) Harrison of Walnut Hill, Fla.; one brother, Jimmy (Jennie) Mauldin of Pensacola, Fla.; one sister, Paula (Jim) Watson of Bratt; four beautiful grandchildren, Leia, Journey, Ellie, Olivia and one great-grandchild, Maddox.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 30, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC. with Bro. Earl Harrison officiating. Burial followed at Godwin Cemetery in Bratt.
The family received friends Friday, April 30, 2021 from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC.

James Edward Barnett
Mr. James Edward Barnett, age 78, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021, in Brewton, Ala. He was born in Atmore, Ala. to the late Henry L. and Stella Trawick Barnett. He was a 1960 graduate of Escambia County High School and went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree from University of West Florida. He was a member of New Bethlehem Baptist Church. He owned and operated Atmore Office and School Supply and Barnett and Associates, Xerox Corporation Sales Agency. He enjoyed visiting Jackson Hole, Wy. He dearly loved his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Bradley Scott Barnett and his siblings, Kenneth Ray Barnett and Carl G. Barnett.
Mr. Barnett is survived by his wife of sixty years, Beverly Troutman Barnett; his children, James Randal (Suzanne Nix) Barnett of Atmore, Shannon Barnett (John) Dransfield of Daphne, Ala. and Jason Robert (Whitney) Barnett of Citronelle, Ala.; his grandchildren, Molly Barnett, Carder Dransfield, Cade Barnett, Emma Barnett, Kinleigh Orso, and Brice Barnett.
Graveside service were held Saturday, May 1, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore with Reverend Albert Kennington officiating.

Ozella Wright Vandenberg

Ms. Ozella Wright Vandenberg, age 98, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021. She was born to the late John Ratcliffe and Dottie Watts Wright in Pascagoula, Miss. She graduated from Beatrice High School in 1939 and afterwards attended Business College. She began working for Miller Machinery and Supply Company in Jacksonville, Fla. and Miami, Fla. until her retirement in 1977. She moved to Atmore to help take care of her parents. She was a member of Brooks Memorial Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin Vandenberg; her brothers, John Velpoe Wright and Donald Leon Wright and three nieces, Gloria Wright Weldon, Melissa Tingle Morris and Stacey Weldon Carter.
Mrs. Vandenberg is survived by three brothers, Jack (Yevonne) Wright of Atmore, Ryan Wright of Vestavia Hills, Ala. and Bryan Wright of Tucker, Ga.; ten nieces and nephews and many other close friends and family.
Funeral service were held Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tim Tew and Rev. James Hill officiating. Interment followed at Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Atmore.
The family received friends Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 2 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Marlyn Eugene Mack
Mr. Marlyn Eugene Mack, age 82, of McCullough, Ala., passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021. He was born in McCullough to the late Walter and Lilla Green Mack. He was a Nurseryman with the Alabama Forestry Commission, Nursery Division. He was a member of McCullough Christian Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Alice Jean West; Maurice Mack, Orville Mack and Mauvlyn Mack.
Mr. Mack is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Annette Hall Mack of McCullough; his sons, Allen (June) Mack of Peterman, Ala. and Mark (Renee) Mack of McCullough; his daughter, Aimee (Jeff) Frazier of Silverhill, Ala.; seven grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 11 a.m. at McCullough Christian Center in McCullough, with Bro. Cornelius Phillips and Bro. Richard Daniels officiating. Interment will follow at McCullough Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Robert Moye, Quint Wilson, Shawn Linam, Nick Linam, Brooks Mack and Kenneth Weekley.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 5, 2021 from 10 a.m. until service time at 11a.m. at McCullough Christian Center.

Sheron Rundall

Ms. Sheron Rundall, age 50, of Lillian, Ala., passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021, in Pensacola, Fla. She was a Media Specialist. She was born to Glenda Helton Rundall and the late Allen E. Rundall. She was a graduate of Huntingdon College, University of West Georgia and University of Alabama with degrees in English Literature and Library Science. She loved and cared for all the area animals. She was a patient and tender caregiver to her parents.
Ms. Rundall is survived by her mother and her uncle, Gary Helton of Atmore, Ala.
Graveside services will be held Friday, May 7, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore with Reverend Daniel Randall officiating.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 7, 2021 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Nancy Lunette Boutwell
Mrs. Nancy Lunette Boutwell, age 79, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 in Mobile, Ala. She had lived around the Brewton, Ala. and Pollard, Ala. areas but, has resided in Flomaton, Ala. for the past twenty years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lunette Sheets Rutherford; her husband, Jimmy Ollie Boutwell; two sons, Co Dean Boutwell, Stanley Ray Boutwell; two granddaughters, Kylee Boyd and Kirstinna Boutwell.
Mrs. Boutwell is survived by four sons, Jimmy Tyrone Boutwell (Rhonda Ann) of Canoe, Ala.; Randy Stephen Boutwell of Pollard, Ala.; Todd Boutwell of Atmore, Ala. and Shaw Boutwell (Angie) of Evergreen, Ala.; two daughters, Vickie Renne Wright (Eddie) of Flomaton, Ala., Candy Michelle Wright (Jim) of Brewton; two sisters, Barbara Blackwell and Mickey Skaggs, both of Atmore; seventeen grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC., with Rev. Malcom Harrison officiating. Burial followed at Travelers Rest Cemetery.
The family received friends Monday, May 3, 2021 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC.
Pallbearers were Dylan Scott, Austin Boutwell, Trent Wright, Levi Boutwell, Jerome Quinn and Joseph Husband.

Evelyn Glenn Akers

Ms. Evelyn Glenn Akers, age 72, of Atmore, Ala. (Freemanville Community), passed away Monday, April 26, 2021 as a result of a house fire. A native of Atmore, she was a 1965 graduate of Escambia County Training School and Alabama A&M University. She was a retired school teacher having taught school in Harrisburg, Penn. for over 34 years and she was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. Upon relocating back to Atmore, she reunited with her childhood church, Mt. Gillead Baptist Church (Freemanville) where she was very active on the usher board, the senior choir, and President of the Missionary Society. She served as the Secretary of the Bethlehem District Sunday School Congress and had served as Statistician of the Bethlehem District Association. She also worked with the census bureau.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lizzie Mae Dailey and Deacon Jethro Dailey Sr.; and her sister, Clarice Dailey.
Ms. Dailey-Akers is survived by her son, Sean Jermaine (Tanya) Dailey; six grandchildren, Sean II, Sierra, Sydni, Aaliyah, Isaiah and Jeremiah, all of Harrisburg, Penn; six sisters, Zernice Valree, Mildred McKenzie (Cleve), Neva Taylor and La Tongia Tucker, all of Atmore, Ala., Mary Dailey and Wilhelmina Heilman, both of Huntsville, Ala.; three brothers, Jethro Jr (Jami), of Huntsville, Rickey and Erwin Dailey (LaVon), all of Atmore; uncle, Willie Jackson (Eartha) of Akron, Ohio; several aunts; an uncle; a large host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; a special friend from high school, Willie Glen Gray (Duke) of New York.
Graveside service will be held Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Gregory Sanders, officiating.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 7, 2021 at the funeral home from 2 – 5 p.m.

Ms. Rosa Goodley of Atmore, Ala., passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 at Atmore Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 8, 2021at 2 p.m. at Potter’s House Church with Pastor Danny Sevens officiating. Interment will follow at Roboinson Cemetery, Stockton, Ala.

Annette Wesley
Mrs. Annette Wesley, age 84, of Century, Fla., passed away Monday, April 26, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Tyhertown, Miss. to the late Theodore and Arsula Ball Magee. She was a faithful member of Loving Word Ministries and served as a mother of the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willie Lee Wesley; daughter, Loraine Magee; five sisters, Irma Jean James, Alfreda Tyson, Octoria Magee, Norma Lee Grace and Martha Jackson.
Mrs. Wesley is survived by Dorine Fountain of Flomaton, Ala., David Wesley of Mobile, Ala., James Wesley of Crestview, Fla., Larry Wesley of New York, Bertha (Willie) Floyd, Viteria (Aaron) Madison, Anglenette Wesley, all of Century, Audrey (Eric) Pleasant of Atmore, Ala., one brother-in-law, Earnest (Barbara Ann) Wesley of Century; thirty-one grandchildren and a host of great and great-great grandchildren.
Home going services were held at Sweet Blessings, Flomaton, Ala. with Apostle Eric Pleasant, officiating.
Pallbearers were Anthony Wesley, Tabarain Wesley, Jeremy Mitchell, Aaron Madison, Jr., Brian Madison, Nathaniel Madison, Jr., Dewayne Wesley and Demarris Bowens.

Jerry Overstreet

Mr. Jerry Overstreet, age 75, of Northport, Ala., passed away Monday, April 19, 2021. He was born in Atmore, Ala. He moved to Tuscaloosa, Ala. and enjoyed his career working on, and driving, riverboat barges. After retirement he spent most of his time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member at New Beginning Family Worship Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosie and Woodard Overstreet; sister, Susie Godwin; brothers, Tommy and Joe Overstreet.
Mr. Overstreet is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Virginia Overstreet; his daughters, Carmia Alexander, Donna McNatt, Lisa Turner (David), Mary Robles, Valinda Avery, and Jennifer Duckworth (David); sisters, Lois Morris Presley, Mary Overstreet, and Diane Board; brother, Jim Overstreet; nieces and nephews, Elaine McKinley of Atmore, Patti Prater of Newnan, Ga., Steve Morris (Christina), Michael Overstreet, Michelle Overstreet, Joey Overstreet and Jimmy Overstreet, all of Atmore, Laurie Nita (Greg) of San Antonio, Tex., Kevin Godwin (Sheree) of Norfolk, Va., Tom Ellis (Clarissa) of San Diego, Calif., William Rawlingson of Ga., Shawn Rawlingson of Mobile, Ala. and Steve Rawlingson, both of Mobile, Ala., and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 23, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Burial followed in Memory Hill Gardens.
The family received friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Larry Windel Cheatham, Sr.
Mr. Larry Windel Cheatham, Sr., age 65, of Brewton, Ala., passed away Monday, April 19, 2021. He was born in Brewton to James and Cora Lee Cheatham. He attended T.R. Miller High School. He obtained his CDL license and worked many years driving 18 wheelers near and far until he retired. He was very observant and had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and lover of all sports especially basketball.
Mr. Cheatham is survived by Joan Cheatham of Pensacola, Fla., two daughters, Roshandia Cheatham of Pensacola, Fla and Khadiji Cheatham of Tulsa, Okla.; three sons, Larry Cheatham, Jr., Bernard Smith of Brewton and Johnny Hall (step-son) deceased.; stepdaughter, Kizzy (Curtis) Brown of Pensacola; loving mother, Cora Cheatham of Brewton; two siblings, Tony (Doreen) Cheatham of Montgomery, Ala. and Beverly Maldonado of Brewton; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Christian Memorial Funeral Home, Brewton, with Minister Regina Watson, eulogist. Interment followed at Piney Grove Cemetery, Brewton.
