After 36 years of service to the Atmore community, Central Farm Supply owner Walter Crim has decided to enter retired life and new ownership has taken over the Central Farm Supply business under a new name.
On April 1, Jason Slay, a native of Elberta, took over the reigns and the name has changed to Atmore Farm & Garden.
Despite the change of name and ownership, store manager Vickie Hattamer stressed that no changes in staff have been made and that the store will still offer the same goods and services as before.
“Virtually nothing has changed,” Hattamer said. “We still have the same great products as before, but we will be adding new items. There will be some different plants and flowers that will be available now that were not in stock before. In addition, some new gift merchandise such as candles and other items, will also be featured.”
Hattamer, who has served as Crim’s manager over the past few years, said the new owner, who is also her nephew, is very excited to become part of the community.
The store front still boasts the Central Farm Supply name for the time being, but plans are to change the signage at a later date.
Crim was not available for comment.
