Barbara J. Conley
Mrs. Barbara J. Conley, age 89, passed away Monday, March 8, 2021 in Atmore, Ala. She was born in Summerdale, Ala. to the late Charles Sidney and Bessie Burns Courtney. She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was a retired Bridal Consultant and her favorite hobby was crochet and knitting.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vernon Conley; grandson, Kenneth Milstead and her five siblings.
Mrs. Conley is survived by her son, Dale (Rebecca) Conley of Pensacola, Fla. and daughters, Deborah (Eric) Springer of Chesapeake, Va. and Cynthia (Vincent) Milstead of Oak Grove, Fla.; five grandchildren, Kelly Springer, Ryan Springer, Michael Milstead, Darcy Baillie, Tara Milstead and four great-grandchildren.
Private family funeral service was held Friday, March 12, 2021 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Roy Chewning officiating. Interment followed at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Oak Grove, Fla. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Florida Baptist Children’s Home.

Mr. Charles Wayne Rutherford, age 68, of Poarch, Ala., passed away Monday, March 8, 2021 in Atmore, Ala. He was born in Atmore to Charles Webster Rutherford and the late Myrtle Stacey Emmons. He was a Vietnam War Era veteran who served honorably in the United States Army. He was a member of Healing Waters Church of Bay Minette, Ala.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle Stacey Emmons and his sister, Teresa Rutherford Ammons.
Mr. Rutherford is survived by his wife of fifty years, Stella Rolin Rutherford; his son, Christopher (Jennifer) Rutherford of Poarch, Ala.; his daughter, Brandi Rutherford of Poarch; his father, Charles Webster (Debbie) Rutherford of Atmore; his step-brothers, Rusty (Mandy) Emmons of Atmore and Thomas Grey Emmons of Foley, Ala.; his sister, Kristina Rutherford of Atmore; his brother-in-law, Gary Anderson of Atmore; his grandchildren; Wyatt (Patricia) Rutherford, Rowdy Rutherford, Melea (Evan) Graham, Sophia Rutherford, Kaylee (Tyler) Sanspree, Addi Jones, Macey Jones and Brooke Presley and a special friend, Theresa Rutherford.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 12, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Richard Daniels officiating. Interment followed at New Home Cemetery in Poarch with Military Honors.
Active pallbearers were Randal Daniel, Charles “Bubba” O’Barr, Chad Johnson, Dale Lisenby, Greg Hall and Marty Wilson.
Honorary pallbearers were George Allen Daniel and David “Dave” Rolin.

Lum D. Weaver, Jr.
Mr. Lum D. Weaver, Jr., age 40, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021 in Dothan, Ala. He was a native and lifelong resident of Bay Minette, Ala. He was a salesman for Dollar General and attended the Crossroads Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lum Sr. and Martha V. Weaver and brother, Scotty Joe Weaver.
Mr. Weaver is survived by his two brothers, Cecil (Tina) Weaver of Rabun, Ala. and David Weaver of Crossroads, Ala.; three nieces, Brooklyn, Addison and Bailey Weaver; four nephews, Jonathan, Patrick, Cody and Levi Weaver and one great-nephew, Trenton Weaver.
Graveside services were held Monday, March 15, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Bryars-McGill Cemetery with Sis. Helen Stewart officiating.
Pallbearers were Jonathan Weaver, Patrick Weaver, Cody Weaver, Joseph Weaver, Erec Smith and Dennis Hinman.
Honorary pallbearer were Levi Weaver, Ronnie Weaver and Charlie Williams.

Mr. John C. “J.C” Moye, age 83, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021 in Atmore. He was born in Escambia County, Ala. to the late Tem, Sr. and Thelma Booth Moye. He was a member and deacon of Presley Street Baptist Church. He was a retired Chemical Operator with Monsanto Company and an avid farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Peggy A. Moye and three sisters, Pauline Seay, Glenda Cooper and Margaret Sharpland.
Mr. Moye is survived by his sons, Richard (Pam) Moye of Bay Minette, Ala., Rondel (Karen) Moye of Sharon, S.C., Robert (Janice) Moye of Bratt, Fla. and Tony (Kim) Lambert of Satsuma, Ala.; his daughters, Regina (James) Hare of Walnut Hill, Fla. and Debra Thrower of Atmore; his brother, Tem Moye, Jr. of Flomaton, Ala.; his sister, Jackie (Michael) Perritt of Pace, Fla.; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joseph Simpson officiating. Interment followed at Moyeville Baptist Church Cemetery in Moyeville, Ala.
The family received friends Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 1:30 p.m. until service time at 2:30 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Cheri Denise Carnley

Mrs. Cheri Denise Carnley, age 62, of Uriah, Ala., passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021 at her residence. She was a native of Lynn, Ma. and had lived in Anniston, Ala. for many years as she graduated from Saks High School in Anniston. She also attended Southern Union College and Ayers State Technical College. She worked in the nursing profession as an LPN. Later in life she relocated to Uriah where she lived with her husband until her demise.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Elbert and Barbara Patricia Sellers; her grandparents, Denise Francis Callahan, Madeline Gertrude Mederm Orr, Harrison Sellers, and Rhoda McKeechan.
Mrs. Carnley is survived by her husband, Curtis Michael Carnley of Uriah; one daughter, Marena Sellers Medruno of Collinsville, Va.; two sons, Christopher (Kayce) Smith of Oneonta; Derek (Veronica) Smith of Pensacola, Fla.; three sisters, Alison (DeWayne) Helmick of Albany Ga., Jessie (Jeffrey) Smith of Hollis Crossroads, Ala., and Barbara Duran of Las Vegas, N.V.; four brothers, Bradley Sellers of Asheville, Ala., Michael Sellers of Anniston, George (Debbie) Butler of Azusa, Ca., Genie Pembrook of Bynum, Ala., nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Heflin, Ala.

Ms. Geraldine “BaBa” Smith, age, 69, of Lithonia, Ga., formerly of Atmore, Ala. passed away Monday, March 8, 2021 at Emory University Medical Center in Atlanta, Ga.
Celebration of Life graveside service was held Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery – Atmore with Rev. James Crook officiating.
The family received friends Friday, March 12, 2021 from 2 – 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.

Mrs. Jean Steadham Davis, age 93, of Century, Fla., passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021 in Pensacola, Fla. She was born in McCullough, Ala. to the late John and Lydia Parson Steadham. She was a member of Pine Barren Baptist Church. She worked in retail sales with Bedsole Department Store for several years then later became a Homemaker. She loved her family dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Calvin Davis, Sr. and ten brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Steadham is survived by her sons, John C. (Lynn Beasley) Davis, Jr. of Atmore, Ala., and Benjamin E. (Dottie) Davis of Walnut Hill, Fla.; her grandchildren, Little John Calvin (Sandy) Davis, III of Atmore, Anna Davis (Christopher) Barry of Cantonment, Fla., Lacey Davis (Travis) Suits of DeBary, Fla. and Clinton E. Davis of Cantonment and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Monday, March 15, 2021 at 11 a.m. Oak Hill Cemetery with Bro. Mike Harper officiating. Interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore.

Mr. Dempsey Charles Levins, age 76 of Repton, Ala. passed away Saturday March 13, 2021. He served three years in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling the world.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilson H. Levins; mother, Vera Louise Presley; brother, Michael Levins; and sister, Juanita White.
Mr. Dempsey is survived by his wife, Teresa Ann Levins; sons, Dempsey Anderson of Fredericksburg, Va.; Jason (Katie) Levins of Daphne, Ala.; daughters, Wendy Lynn Levins of Los Angeles, Ca., Krystal (Ricky) Sellers of Mandeville, La., Heather (Heath) Wiggins of Excel, Ala., Meloney (Brad) Faulk of Century, Fla. and grandchildren, Alexandria Levins-Trail, Jakson Newton, Molly Ann Newton, Ada Sellers, Madelyn Faulk, Knox Wiggins, McCoy Wiggins, Hattie Sellers, Elsa Faulk, Rush Wiggins, Wyatt Sellers, Annalee Faulk, Bellerin Faulk and Raylan Levins.

Mr. Raymond “Butch” Donald, age 75, passed away Friday, March 12, 2021 in Mobile, Ala. He was a native of Bay Minette, Ala. and had resided in White House Fork, Ala. for most his life. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather. He loved fishing, hunting and being outdoors. He was a retired paint and body repairman and owner-manager of Donald’s Paint and Body Shop with over forty years of service. He was a member of White House Fork Baptist Church.
Mr. Donald is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Faye Donald of White House Fork; one son, Brian Donald of Shreveport, La.; one daughter, Angie (Randall) Allen of White House Fork; one brother, Thomas (Claurice) Donald of White House Fork; five sisters, Irene Toler, Mary Virginia Cook, Dorothy Johnson, all of White House Fork, Louise Powell of Crossroads, Ala. and Clara Bush of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren, Randy (Emily) Allen, Travis (Jamie) Allen and Brandon (Kristina) Allen; nine great-grandchildren, Mary Elyse, Will, Nick, Ansleigh, Easton, Fischer, Tynan, Deklan and Ryley; special great-niece, Jessica; great-nieces, Phenix and Bristol and special sister-in-law, Becky McDonald.

Carol Dreadin Cherry
Mrs. Carol Dreadin Cherry, age 73, of Carthage, N.C. passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Elmcroft of Southern Pines in Southern Pines, N.C. She was born in Huxford, Ala. to the late Arthur and Olee (Flowers) Dreadin. After college, she moved to Atlanta, Ga. where her mystery shopping company, Shop’N Chek was born and a new industry created Carol’s natural magnetism, confidence, hard-work, and business savvy helped and grow her company from a room with a desk, typewriter, and phone, to an international operation with licensees in 34 countries. Carol served on many boards throughout the Atlanta community and state of Georgia, most notably, she was the first female to be president of any metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and brought the customer service industry into the equation, which previously had only included manufacturing as she served on the Georgia State Board of Industry Trade & Tourism. After retirement, she fulfilled her next dream of building a home on 50 acres in the “middle of nowhere.” She spent time on the croquet lawns at Pinehurst Resort and Country Club, gardening on her property, listening to audiobooks with her husband, while relaxing at their pool, and riding around on her gator. Even though she travelled the world, she always stayed a “farm girl at heart” and the humble spirit and kindness she showed towards every person she met, will be a legacy that lives on in the memories of all who had the opportunity to know her.
Mrs. Cherry is survived by her husband of almost 34 years, Bob Cherry; daughter Kristen (James) Hooven of Fort Lupton, Colo.; son, Michael (Jennifer) Cherry of Buford, Ga; brother, Glen (Carol) Dreadin of Huxford, Ala.; Mike (Selena) Dreadin, of Uriah, Ala.; Jeff Dreadin, of Mobile, Ala.; grandchildren Hannah and Drake Hooven.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 28, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Huxford First Baptist church. Memorials may be made to: Alzheimer’s Association, at alz.org.

Mr. Trammel Douglas Hale, age 83, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at his home in Atmore, Ala. He was a native and lifelong resident of Escambia County, Ale. He retired from Monsanto where he worked as a foreman. He served in the United States National Guard for several years and was a member of Canoe Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Allen Hale; his parents, Novy Lee Hale and Myrtle Cook Hale; and two brothers, Clark Hale and Donald Beasley.
Mr. Hale is survived his wife of sixty-three years, Mary Elizabeth Hale of Atmore; three daughters, Connie Hale, Teresa (John) Land all of Atmore and Kathy (Chuck) Griffin, of Uriah, Ala.; a brother, Rodney Hale and wife, Dena of Belleair, Fla.; three sisters, Sue Mahoney of Bagdad, FL, Sandra “Boots” O’Brien of Calif. and Linda Peacock and husband, Bernard of Stockton, Ala.; five grandchildren, Tansey Espey and husband, Gerry, Tracey Nelson and husband, Rodney, Tiffany Land, Steven Lassiter and wife, Kelsey and Mary Kathrine Salter and husband, Hunter; and six great-grandchildren, Jase Lassiter, Harper Ann Salter, John Fisher Salter, Brit Smith, Liam Chavers-Nelson, and Gerri-Ryann Espey.
Private services for the family will be held at a later date.

Mr. Manuel Edward Hall, age 65, or Brewton, Ala., passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021. He was born in Brewton to Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Hall, Sr. He was a 1974 graduate of Southern Normal. He was employed with Iron Works in Brewton. He was a member of Second Saint Siloam Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter/daughter, Alaysia Pierre-Louis; one brother, Dewey Hall, Jr.; mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Robert Jackson, Sr. and his pet “Mi Mi.”
Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Hermine Jackson Hall; seven children, Tashan Streety, Emanuel Jackson, LaGranda Brown, Rodriquez, Shamar Campbell, LaToya Williams.
