Chili cookoff is back

Get ready to cook, taste

Special to Atmore News

After taking a brief hiatus in 2019 and again in 2020 due to COVID-19, the Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that the Chili Cookoff is back. With a little bit of restructuring and a few safety precautions, the Chamber is ready to find Atmore’s best chili recipes Saturday, February 20, at Heritage Park.
Entry into the event is free, but tickets to sample chili are $10. Each ticket will provide you with five serving tickets and one vote ticket. Participants will begin serving the chili to the public at 2 p.m. The last call for chili servings will be at 3:45 p.m. The final ticket collection will be at 4 p.m. with awards being presented at approximately 4:30 p.m.
Do you think your Chili Cookoff team has what it takes to be the best? Contact the Chamber today to enter the contest. Entry into the contest is free. Teams will also receive $1 for every serving ticket collected. Team proceeds are allowed to be allocated as the participant sees fit.
