Public hearing set on urgent care facility

News Staff Report

Do you have questions or concerns about the construction of healthcare facilities near the interstate?
You may have your voice heard at a public hearing Wednesday, December 30, 10 a.m., in the Mayson Auditorium at Atmore Community Hospital.
Discussion will include proposed issuance by the Escambia County Health Care Authority of its tax-exempt note not to exceed $3.5 million, to finance the construction, furnishing and equipping of a new, free-standing approximately 5,730 sq. ft. urgent care center. The center will be constructed on an approximately 10-acre parcel of land located on Atmore’s property (considered within the city of Atmore), near exit 57 off Interstate 65, on the east side of Highway 21, beginning 286 feet southeast of Taco Bell.
